Same thing happened at the end of the first half of the UCF bowl game.

you realize the coverage was basically perfect on that play, right?

Offenses that score a lot of points usually do it very quickly, giving the other teams more opportunities to score on a tired defense. Good teams will eventually score points against a defense that stays on the field a long time.
Time of possession
LSU 26:07 UT 33:53
LSU 27:27 Vandy 32:33
LSU 21:41 Florida 38:19
LSU 34:34 Alabama 25:26

Remember, Alabama had a punt return for a TD and two deep bombs. We were 3 plays away from destroying them.

Coverage may have been perfect, but Alabama having to drive 70 yards to score in less than 3:00 mins would have been harder for them.
I've back Aranda all season and Still back him, but that coverage was a bad call. Man to man press coverage with that little time in the game. Tua may have tried to force a pass into coverage. NO need to play that tight.

You're right....because Bama would be in EVERY year, just because they're Bama.

No, Finebaum said before the game there is no way Alabama go to the playoffs if they lose to LSU; he is looking for excuses to change his previous statement.

Careful Baw. if you point out the obvious about aranda then you will get grilled. Aranda should be donating some of his money to Brady for keeping the heat off him this year.

You'd be saying its ok to schedule poorly

If the committee lets the Gumps in, this is exactly the message they're sending, as well as basically invalidating all conference championship games.

Vandy scored on a pick 6 and a fumble in the end zone but all the Rantards put that on the D as well. We have some of the most ignorant fans in any sport on earth.

It was a defensive scheme bust. Press coverage is NOT the defense of choice. Between that, the peek into the sideline, and the punt return, bama could hang around. It really should have been a 24 point or so win.

Too bad we only gave up 24 to Vandy and 34 to Bama but don’t let facts ruin your narrative.

...Agree...and they don’t want to see another BAMA-LSU game either... it’s a National Championship game not an SEC REMATCH CHAMPIONSHIP....the committee should throw out the Mulligan they’ve been handing them for years...the so called DYNASTY has become a DINOSAUR ,It is now old and washed up....times a’ changin’...

Finebaum just suggested that Bama keeping the game within one score kept them in the playoff discussion.

Why should they get in the playoffs based on one play? They were beaten at home by a team that hardly anyone believed could do it. Plus, they have zero resume to help them get in. If they are allowed based on past accomplishments and not what they have done this year, the system does not work.

Had they recovered that onside kick, the game was very much in doubt. Should not have never got to that point but I'm not in denial that I would have been nervous af if they had the ball for the last drive.

Bama didn’t score 41 points on the defense and Vandy didn’t score all 38 points on the defense. Do you even watch the games or just regurgitate info said on here?

Of course he is correct.

The same people that allow Bama to play by different rules are also the same people that cannot understand why CFB attendance is down.

It is laughable.

Did you ever think you’d see a day where fans were bitching about beating Alabama at Alabama? Well we’re here and all the people who’ve been saying this generation of LSU fan are ignorant spoiled morons have been proven right.

Honestly. Unless we end up with two, 2 loss conference champions this year, I don’t see how Bama gets in with 1 “quality” win over Auburn.
