It won’t be his last game. Earnie even stated they the outcome of these games has no bearing on his employment and he is happy with the process.

G - Guzan
D - Yedlin/Long/Brooks/Dest
M - McKennie/Morales/Lletget
F - Boyd/Sargent/Morris

Do just swap Lleget for Arriola?

Yeah, he is more of a winger. I would like to see Lletget start inside.

Holy shite that first quote from Earnie is beyond tone deaf.

quote:

"What we've seen in the Gold Cup is that in Concacaf we have a really good level, and that we can play the game we want to play.

When on earth did we show that? We got bogged down by fricking Curacao.

quote:

Getting to a place where we can do that over 90 minutes, that's the place we need to get to. That progression is there, except against teams like a very good team in Mexico and a very good team like Uruguay, it becomes a little bit more difficult."

He's just out here saying superlatives that have no real substance.

This is something a Jamaica coach would say after narrowly missing out on the Hex. We're acting like the standard of the USMNT is a CONCACAF minnow and we're poised to make the next step to maybe making a World Cup.

This is so fricking disingenuous.

Did he really? JFC fml.

ETA: just read that article. Goddamn. that delusional bit of spin would make the trump White House proud. Fire them all.

quote:

“I just want to be really, really clear that when it comes to the technical decisions within the federation, in the role that I have now as the sporting director I want to be clear that I’m the one making the decisions.”

“So all the conspiracy theories that are out there in my mind are very disrespectful to me, and I’ll just name them, to Jay Berhalter and Gregg Berhalter and to myself. When people insinuate these things, that kind of goes against my internal feelings that I have. I’ve worked a little bit too hard to be in the position that I am today to have people actually think that.”

This honestly makes me want to fight Earnie.

USMNT is soft.

Gregg is softer.

But who knew Earnie was the pillsbury fricking dough boy?

I just can't understand where they see progress. It's one thing to lose a GC final to Mexico. And of course not getting out of the Hex cost people their jobs, but if they lose/draw to Canada again and can't get out of a group with fricking them and Cuba then I'd love to know what they think regression looks like.

No particular reason, just really think Yueill has a fire about him and a motor that doesn’t stop.

Love what I have seen from him in his limited time with the MNT senior squad.

Yahoo Sports has been killing it lately on their USMNT coverage and articles. Heres one from today echoing our concerns about the "vision".

not a very long read

That was a good article, but a fancy way of saying Berhalter isn't going anywhere.

I actually don’t hate it outside of Zardes. Frankly I’m just excited to see Brooks again. Also happy to see Lletget playing in the midfield 3 (presumably he is).
