Anyone who was there on Saturday, help me decide...

I love everything about LSU and the legend of Tiger Stadium, and hate everything Gump - but BDS was loud on Saturday. Can some of you others who were there give your opinion on how it compared to meaningful LSU games from the past (e.g. UGA '03, UF '07, Bama '12, UF '19)?
Honestly, I can't remember anything much louder in my life when Waddle ran back the punt. Please tell me it's not possible for that place and those mouth breathers to be louder than Tiger fans.

There is something about being a visitor that makes places seem loud(er). I'm not sure if it's the fact you're not screaming or the fact you're probably in a bad mood when they get crazy like that, but I've been to a few away games that rivaled TS.

It wasnt loud at all IMO. About on the same level as Tiger Stadium is for a mediocre SEC team. Electric atmosphere but not loud.

That stadium is not in the same stratosphere as Tiger Stadium when it comes to noise, a lot of their noise is manufactured, much like Texas. I would definitely put it behind LSU, Aubie, and Florida in terms of atmosphere and noise.

It got loud for a few plays but they don’t sustain it like we do. However, it’s an intimidating stadium with the lights, piped in music, Pom poms waving one unison, and the whole Dixie land delight routine (if you thought we over play callin Baton Rouge go to Tuscaloosa and count how many time you hear Dixie land delight, I mean my God do they wear that shite out) when they got back within one score and started blasting “we will rock you” with the lights going off I was like frick we’re in trouble
I sat in the middle of all of them and you could cut the tension with a knife the whole game. It just had that feeling that they’d go off on me at any second if I cheered to loud lol. They had some drunk guys a few rows behind me that were lsu fans that were obnoxiously cheering the whole game and when queen picked it some of the fans around them finally lost their cool and went off on them and even called security. I kinda get it though, I’ve had to sit around bama fans at every home game we’ve played against them and I get aggravated with them too when we’re losing

I was down low in the bowl near LSU section - my ears will hurt during a game and ring afterwards. Nothing like that at BDS, to be honest all you hear are girls screaming, nothing like our house

This is probably an alter, but no it wasn't loud by any margin of death valley.

Cmon man it wasn’t that loud. I give them the Waddle TD but I would say Tiger Stadium even Jordan Hare is on a different level...

The Waddle run have been "loud" (not really) but I have never heard a stadium so quiet after the back-to-back LSU TDs right before half time. BD Funeral Home quiet.

quote:I was in the LSU student section on the 5 yard like 4 rows up. It wasn’t loud AT ALL. It was all piped in music. It was so much it was almost overwhelming. If they didn’t use their sound system in the stadium it would’ve sounded like a high school game, truly. The crowd only cheered when they did the light show and when the bell rung to let the crowd know it was 3rd down.

Tiger Stadium is loud because it’s non stop cheering the whole game. BDS is all piped in noise and even with that it didn’t compare to Tiger Stadium, it’s not even close. And that’s me being truly unbiased. I was kinda disappointed with BDS no lie. I guess that’s what being an entitled sports fan is like.

People shaking pom poms instead of cupping their hands and yelling their guts out.
Big difference.
Big difference.

Every stadium will be loud when their team makes a big play. What separates LSU is that for big games it’s loud from the time the band takes the field 15 minutes before the game until 0:00 in the 4Q.

I was there and it wasn’t that loud. And for the love of God that light show is terrible.

I’ve been to every SEC stadium sans Mizzou and at all the “big” games vs. LSU.
UF and Auburn are the loudest outside of LSU.
It gets loud at BDS on big offensive scoring plays...thats it.

Being from Auburn- I have never been to a college game in BDS but I can say I didn't think it was anything compared to the likes of Tiger Stadium or Jordan-Hare or the swamp.
Yes it was loud when they scored but it wasn't during our offensive possessions.
Geaux Tigers-- it gets interesting from here on.......

The loudest most raucous college game ever played was LSU-USC 1979 and I was there in addition to a few other games you mentioned. And it’s not even close. The other games are a very distant second.
Here’s all you need to know. Ronnie Lott, three time Super Bowl winner. Hall of Famer. He said in an article a few years ago that that 79 game was the only time in his entire football career that a crowd completely intimidated him. It was the greatest football atmosphere of all time.

If the gumpers turned off the stadium scoreboard before the game ended (like grammar school basketball games when one team is dominating), I wouldn’t be surprised if they had microphones and speakers planted. The gumpers believe they have the right to win any way possible, (cheating refs, holding, etc.). BUCK FAMA
