Scenarios to prevent Bama from backing up into playoffs ...yet again??

(Sorry if already talked about in another thread)
Of course LSU, OSU, Clemson winning out.
Does undefeated Baylor jump ahead? Or one loss Oklahoma?
Any others I am missing?
Please God , let Auburn beat Bama so won't have to worry about another BS potential 2012 or 2018 championship

Auburn beating them is the only way to guarantee it

1 Loss Pac-12 (So Utah or Oregon)
1 Loss, Big-12 Champ OU (or I guess undefeated Baylor)
Really don't see how they'd give Bama (whose best victory would be Auburn and nothing else to point to) a playoff spot over any of those scenarios.

If they beat Texas once (no matter what they look like now) and Oklahoma twice, they should be in, but probably won't be.

I think the last three weeks may have screwed OU. Losing to K-State and nearly losing to Iowa State hurts the perception of OU.
I think the only guarantee is an Auburn win in the Iron Bowl.

LSU losing to UGA in the SECCG

Maybe If penn state and OSU both finish with 1-loss, the B10 champ and the other one might be considered? At least both of those teams have victories over top 25 teams. Media does love some B10 but they also love Bama.
OU as a 1-loss B12 champ I think gets in bc they too played a harder schedule.
If Auburn tanks and Georgia beats them, Bama’s best win is a 3-loss AU team.

The only way I trust us getting in is by winning out through the SEC championship.

Would actually be 4-loss AU after Bama beats them.
If Utah and Oregon can win out, the winner of Pac 12 championship gets a bid. No doubt in my mind. I guess bigger question is if both can win out until that point. Pac 12 just eats their own alive.

Agreed. OU is good but nowhere near playoff caliber, IMO.

If LSU Alabama and Georgia win out in regular season and Georgia beats LSU in the SEC Championship then the SEC will have 3 1-lose teams, Georgia goes as SEC Champ and with LSU head to head win would have to be the second team from the SEC to go.
Alabama desperately needs LSU to go undefeated.

When have they backed in for a first time? Surely you don't mean the year they were competing for the last spot with Ohio State who had 2 losses, so what year are you referring to?

auburn could make it happen. short of that, i think it will require the committee making a 'philosophical choice' and giving someone like a 1 loss oregon or utah the nod over 1 loss bama... knowing bama is the better team. combined with that, the argument in principal that LSU shouldnt have to rematch bama.
it's a stretch to me they will make this case, but thats how i see it.
im now one of the words biggest auburn fans.

Even if Alabama gets help from other team LSU can block them by losing to Georgia in the SEC title game.

Scenarios that could keep Bama out.
1. LSU and UGA running the table, and UGA beating LSU in SECCG. LSU and UGA probably both get in over Bama.
2. Minnesota beating tOSU, and going undefeated. One loss OSU might get in above Bama.
3. Baylor going undefeated and winning the Big 12.
- Clemson must win out. A loss probably knocks them out and opens the door even wider for Bama.
- Oregon/Utah winner must remain with just one loss. Then we would have to hope the committee weighs more heavily to conference championship, because Bama's loss and schedule would probably be better than both. Same can be said for Oklahoma.

If Baylor runs the table they have to get in as an undefeated conference champion correct?

Winner out of a 1 loss Oregon and a 1 loss Utah team should be in. A big quality win late and a Pac 12 championship should be enough. They want a Pac 12 school in the playoffs.
This Pac 12 championship win will be a bigger win over a much higher ranked team than Bama will have for their entire season.
Bams’s biggest win, Auburn, will have 4 losses and be ranked 20-25 range for the last poll.

Of course they do.
Also, Oregon’s AD, or is it the President(?), is on the Committee

undefeated conf champs dont automatically get it. there arent even enough playoff spots for that scenario (Bix XII, Pac 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC).
