I get why a lot of people here would never consider voting for Buttigieg.. i’m honestly curious though (not bi-curious like an Aggie)- if Buttigieg were a hard-right conservative, lets say he held every single one of Trump’s policy positions, and was in the mold of a Ted Cruz or a Ronald Reagan or (insert conservative bonafide person here).. which of you would consider voting for him? There’s no right or wrong answer, i’m just seeking to understand if what he does in the privacy of his bedroom alone would stop some of you from voting for him on moral grounds or whatever.

I believe your sincerity in asking this, because I've wondered the same thing.

I think it's a 100% non-negotiable deal killer for some. Like if the perfect candidate promised to hand deliver a check for $100k to every American citizen...but he liked to suck a little cock now and then, some people would refuse to vote for him.

We saw in 2008 that race considerations can/do override policy for some people. Some people voted for Obama simply because he was brown, and some people didn't vote for him for the exact same reason. We saw the same in 2016 with gender. I have no reason to believe that sexual preference would be any different.

A close family member of mine and his husband are goo-goo, gah-gah over Mayor Pete. I'd put $100 down that they know very little about him beside the fact that he's gay and a democrat. People align themselves with those who look like, act like, and think the way they do...irrespective of whether that person is qualified for a leadership position.

i will vote for a gay black muslim woman if she has the right views on the constitution.

Pete started off moderate. He genuinely came off a nice relatable guy.

Then he agreed to third trimester abortions. Then said that i should have white guilt. Then he agreed to decriminalize illegal border crossing. Then he tried to use the Bible to tell me that i'm wrong for thinking homosexuality is wrong. Then he said college should be "free." Then he used the Bible to justify abortion.

i'm under no pretenses that Donald Trump is a god-fearing Christian. He may be, but I don't see those fruits in his life. i will not listen to him lecture me (and he doesn't) on why the Bible tells me that i should vote for him because of his interpretation of scriptures. I'm also not going to listen to Pete tell me that my view of the scriptures is incorrect, and i should vote for progressive policies because he told me to.

I don’t give a shite about a person’s sexuality, race, religion or other demographic. All I care about is their political stances on the policies I care about, like taxes, spending, protecting our freedoms, securing our borders, etc.

Not one of the Dems share any of my views, thus I’d never, ever considered voting for any of those tards.

And it’s why I wholeheartedly support Trump. He’s not perfect, but he’s a fighter and he gets shite done.
