Final thoughts on tonight: some disappointing results, but tells you nothing about 2020

Dems made gains in a state clinton won by 6 in a redrawn district map that heavily favored them. Breaking news
Most unpopular gov in America lost to blue dog son of Uber popular blue dog ex governor. Breaking news
Non toxic GOP candidates perform very well in Kentucky. Breaking news
Party out of power does well in off year elections. Breaking news
The NYT/Sienna polls yesterday show 2020 is still easily there for the taking by ORANGE if we all work hard to turn out and win hearts and minds.
If you are into moral victories, lots of pundits on twitter are actually saying dems kind of underperformed expectations tonight in Va.
Man up and get to work. Stop melting over a governor race in a state trump will win next year by 30+ points.
Did JBe mean president Clinton? NOPE! Grow some balls

Bevin has only himself to blame

This is true, too.

Very disappointing indeed. The swamp gets thicker in Mississippi. There's essienatially no hope of return in this state. Tate is going to KEEP MISSISSIPPI LAST

What most people didn't notice was that both Bevin and Tate Reeves outperformed their polling tonight, significantly. Reeves was neck-and-neck with Hood in the polls but won comfortably. Bevin is the most unpopular governor in the country, was underwater against Beshear and had just about been left for dead, but only 5,000 votes separate him from Beshear.
If this trend continues, John Bel is history next Saturday. And he's acting like someone who knows it.

You can’t use the Bevin loss as evidence of some national trend while simultaneously ignoring all the other statewide outcomes in KY which saw a GOP sweep.
Occam’s razor: Bevin was awful.

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge. I still own property there. Most of my family is still there and I visit several times a year.
So, because of this, I applaud his efforts to keep Mississippi last.

Totally. And calling those who disagree with your Supreme Leader cucks and traitors is a good start.

Lofty synopsis, mate

It tells you a little about 2020, just as 2018 did. The GOP is lucky to have Trump, but victory is not a foregone conclusion.

It tells you a little
VA vote simply showed it was extremely gerrymandered before the redistricting and KY should have known if you can elect a BlueJones in Alabama you need to start with a viable candidate even in the Bluegrass State.

I don't care. It was a suggestion.
