It seems like of all 3 talented LSU WRs JaMarr Chase is the most highly regarded by LSU fans. I've seen multiple fans even put Chase above Jerry Jeudy as a prospect (although Chase obviously won't be eligible this year). How do you think Chase compares to the last two top LSU WR prospects Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry? Chase has arguably been more productive as a sophomore than either Beckham or Landry. He is slightly bigger than both (6'1 vs 5'11 for Landry and Beckham) and definitely has more speed than Landry but maybe not Beckham. I've seen Chase get compared to both as he has a physical nature like Landry but has the route running and athleticism similar to Beckham. Do you think Chase can be a 1st rounder next year like OBJ before him?

He’s first round easy

A 50/50 ball in single coverage to Chase is pretty much a 70/30 ball

That 2013 offense with today's playbook would have been absolutely incredible

He’s not as fast as Beckham, not as sure handed as Landry, I think he’s bigger than both and will probably be a first rounder. He reminds me of deandre Hopkins in college. I hope he turns into pro Hopkins next year because he’s already almost unstoppable.

How is he not as sure handed as Landry? I don't know if I have seen him drop a pass this year.

Chase has the same body control in the air as both Laundry and OBJ but I wouldn't put him at that level quite yet. The thing that made OBJ and Landry great in college is that those two worked at their craft and fired each other up. Chase has Jefferson and Marshall so let's see what happens the rest of the season. Chase has all the skills and talent so let's see him keep getting better and better.

It’s hard for me to compare them all but I can breakdown chase.

6’1” 205lb
4.46 - 40 yard dash
Will likely have a 40” vert

Incredible balance, great hands, fearless, and a dog. Fights for extra yardage. Great run blocker, think build with elite athleticism. Maybe doesn’t have the top end speed of a Beckham or Jeudy but makes up for it in other aspects. Elite prospect. 1st rounded

I’ve made the comparison to Davonta Adams before but Jamar is a better prospect.

His best comp to me is Deandre Hopkins

I’m not saying he’s a butterfinger guy, but he’s had a few (like less than 5) drops/balls he could or should have caught.

I’m not saying he’s not sure handed either. Just that Landry had the best hands I’ve ever seen, especially on contested balls

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks this.

I agree here. Not saying Chase has a tendency to drop balls, but Landry just has hands of glue. Chase is bigger and stronger and already knows how to use his body to get leverage and separation though.

Great player and easily first round imo but I don't know the difference in targets. That would be an interesting stat to look at because there's no way he has more drops than OBJ.

EDIT:

So after comparing stats, here's Jarvis Landry and OBJ's career stats at LSU vs Chase's

Landry: 137 rec, 1809 yards, 15TDs
OBJ: 143 rec, 2340 yards, 12 TDs
Chase: 66 rec, 1062 yards, 12 TDs

Obviously, Chase has another year before he can leave so I did the math on what his stats would be if his receptions were equal to the other two:

Projected stats with 137 receptions, 2204 yards and 25 TDs
Projected stats with 143 receptions, 2301 yards and 26 TDs

So in terms of yardage, he's about on par with OBJ, but out-gaining Landry. In terms of TDs he's throttling both of them

Landry was never afraid of contact either.

This is true, but to me they catch the ball differently. Chase can take the top off the defense, Landry was a monster in traffic up the middle, or when we needed to get to the sticks.
