And what, EXACTLY, does that have to do with champions from multiple sports being invited to the White House? Come on

Bruh, it's pretty obvious you just hate Trump. That's really all this is.

this guy ain't about being presidential, it's about insults and pandering to his voters.

So, like every president pretty much ever

I agree. Don't know why Trump turned it into one.
Individual athletes have skipped for years, and he's actually not the first to not invite teams. Granted, prior to Trump, the only reason teams were not invited was due to presidential scandals or war. LINK the article gives a historical breakdown.

If I'm a fan of a team that has won a championship, I want them to go to the White House and be honored by the President of the United States. And trot them out in front of Congress too. And make it a national spectacle for a day. Don't care if the guy in office isn't who I voted for, or not. I want the official recognition.

This. Hell, my Spurs won titles under Bush 43 and Obama. Felt just as proud all of those teams were honored by the highest office in the land. Because it's ultimately not about politics or the president at the time.

Doubtful. The celebration is at the White House not Trump tower which is world renown for its taco bowls.

Melania needs to hide his phone on June 19.

His reason was they didn't invite him when he didn't win.

I'm a big time conservative but was honored as hell to get the chance to meet Obama.

Some experiences transcend politics.

First time I can remember this happening was Tim Thomas when Obama was in office. I’m sure it’s happened before that, but this began before Trump....despite your hopes.

Can’t ever remember Obama or Bush or Clinton ever disinviting an entire team because some players wanted to skip the White House visit. If Trump was a bigger man, he would have invited teams like the Warriors and Eagles even if only a few players decided to show up or turned down the visit altogether. The three best players on the 1984 Celtics (Bird, McHale, Parrish) all turned down the opportunity to visit the White House yet Reagan still hosted the ceremony for the team.
