Yeah I like Danielson. His analysis is usually on point.

Announcers in general get an inordinate amount of hate. No matter what channel the game is on, there will he threads about the announcers. JFC just watch the game on mute.

He wasn't awful but wasn't up to his usual standards. Seemed to not be as prepared as he normally was, might be age is catching up.

But over the years he has been one of the best.

I’m not really sure why there’s so much negativity toward Gary D. The guy has a great football mind, and I enjoy listening to his commentary. As for the alleged hate toward LSU, maybe I don’t listen as well as others do, and maybe I’m missing something, but in the post game, he praised Joe Burrow, and during the game, he stated Stingley has the best ball skills that he’s seen (I don’t know if he meant ever or of current players). He later compared his ball skills to Charles Woodson.

He said the huge lineman who was hell-bent to take our Burrow's knees, "slipped".

He's a frickin liar, and he knows it.

Yea that’s amazing isn’t it? Someone dives into Burrows knees and “he slipped.”

Saying “boom!!” after auburn scored....

Saying “we really need to get a couple of first downs” when auburn had the ball late in the game when it became obvious their defense was gassed

Oh yea he’s objective as frick

Agree....But, what bugs me the most is the announcers lobbying for instant replay reviews of pretty much all of LSU's close plays, like the officials wont do that anyway. It sounds like they're hoping to have our good plays reviewed and overturned at every turn. Like they're trying to legislate the game from the booth.

Absolutely correct.

I would not want to watch a game called by someone that has the knee pads on for LSU for the entirety of the game.

He said that in a later segment that a slip might've happened when pointing out the field conditions, and the replay showed Brown extend his hand to Burrow as if he was apologizing for the hit.

When Burrow threw the TD pass to Dillon in last year's game, Gary yelled "oh what a throw!!" I guess he wanted us to win that one.

Every week of every season, every SEC fanbase watching CBS thinks Gary is actively rooting against them, including Bama fans. That usually means he's doing his job objectively.

Danielson relishes, as evidenced by his annunciation and subsequent glee level rise when potential tragedy befalls LSU...he deserves no pass as his loyalty to Alabama and on his knees slobbering perpetually before saban make him worthless to listen to and watch.

You have the option of not listening to him. Put on your P&G glasses and pump up that radio.

Stop bitching about watching him and go to the game. There were plenty of tickets on stubhub at decent prices the day of the game. No excuses.

You couldn’t be more wrong. GD might be good if you’re woman or not familiar with football at all. Everything he says is very obvious and predictable.

No he fricking isn’t dude, played coached and reffed. (Long story) He used to be, but now he can’t get players names right, doesn’t watch the game, and infatuated with hearing himself talk and gushes over teams like bama like a 14 year old girl

Watch a game called by Blackledge and you will remember what a great analysts sounds like

I think he’s great. He knows the game well, and he’s almost always spot on. He can be funny, too, like that comment (I think it was him) when the Burrow pass went right over the Auburn lineman’s bicep. He said, “One more set of curls would have done it.”

Stop getting pissed off at him for throwing a compliment to the other side. It's not a closed-circuit broadcast to only LSU fans.

Well said!
