Lil wick and I are heading to Mississippi with my German shorthairs to run cleanup duty after at large peasant tower shoot yesterday. Should make for a good time

Foot Jr just killed his first racked deer. 7-8 point.
7mm-08 dropped him but he was moving crazy. I’ve seen too many run off so told him to put another thru his shoulder blades. He did.
The thread of the guy getting gored has me jumpy. We’ve been looking at it fior 30 minutes.
Proud of him. Got caught in a standoff after he made some racket. But he got control of his breathing and shot him at 100 yards.

Welp. I feel sick.
I missed the biggest deer of my life this morning. I simply panicked when I realized how big he was. I didn’t do any of my pre-release checks. I don’t think I even breathed.
What a terrible feeling.
Only positive is that it was a clean miss (right over his shoulder).
