I just find it hard to believe that if it came down to the wire, and state needed one stop on defense to take down a top 5 team in the country, people would not ring the bells like crazy when they aren't supposed to

If you watch the game this weekend, listen to when they actually stop clanging those artificial bullshite noise makers. The last game I watched a couple of years ago, they clanged well past when they were supposed to, stopped for a couple of seconds (mostly) and continued right on with it. The SEC gives zero fricks to this crap.

Not what I wanted to hear, CajunPete, considering it will be my first ever SEC away game to be able to attend. My luck sucks. Lol

Bring ear plugs and you’ll be fine. MSU fans are friendly.

I was there a few years back when they creamed us. It was a really fun trip. They had some good fans. Walking out folks were patting us on the backs and offering us consolation beers. I'd go again. The cowbells were the only bad part about it.

If you're an elite athlete and you're surrounded by teams like Bama, LSU, Georgia, Florida etc, why on earth would you choose a bunch of cowbells unless you have ties there?
If you’re a QB and Les Miles wants to make you a TE.

It's a unfair advantage against opponents trying to call audibles and only MS is allowed to do this.

Not true... they stop before the offense becomes set.

Not true. Have you ever been to a Moo State home game?

While some may obey the SEC rule, the majority ignore it.

The bells are no worse than the band playing shrill, off-key notes up until the snap

They were ringing the shite out of them in 2015 when they almost beat us. I’m sure 2017 was even worse

As far as a city goes, Starkville kind of sucks. The people there are great though. I have alot of family from Mississippi that went there and everytime I've gone, the people have been nothing but nice. Alot of farmers that go there for AG and engineering.

The stadium is VERY loud for 50-60,000 people because of the cowbells. I know there's a ban on noise makers but this has been a tradition for too long there and should be grandfathered in. It's not like theyll be winning a national championship ever. There's just too many schools around them absorbing their in state talent.

Good atmosphere, good people, cant wait to beat them.

Yep, and tomorrow will be bad too.

Their cowbells are "tradition", so the SEC allows it, but frick our tradition of night football.

Why?

I'm bringing my young step brothers who are MSU fans to the game tomorrow.

MS state fans are a pretty considerate group as a whole and, while aggravating, I wouldn't say it results in much of advantage at all. Honestly, they don't yell much when they are ringing cowbells, so we may be better off!

Why, if it gives them in unfair advantage?

That's probably true, but they were ranked no. 1 for a few weeks back during the Dak Prescott years. I don't subscribe to the sentiment that because they usually suck, they should be given special treatment.

I didn't say to take the bells away. It's only a topic for discussion.

It really is ludicrous they they are allowed to have sanctioned artificial noise makers.

Tradition or not.

Noisemakers should be allowed in every SEC stadium or none.

Ms. State is a great away venue. I wouldn't worry.

Exactly.

You can't tell me that if LSU had a tradition of blowing vuvuzela horns at football games that we'd be allowed to do it.
