First of all O approves each gameplan and the schemes they run and I’m quite confident that between Aranda and O they know more about defense than the rant does. Yes the defense is giving up more points than usual and some 3rd downs but they always seem to come up big in crunch time. Trask was making throws last night that couldn’t be defended and Florida has some serious speed on offense so anyone that thinks Florida isn’t any good just doesn’t have a clue. This is one of the best LSU teams in a long time so just enjoy the show instead of incessantly crying about the defense.

The complaints were warranted in the first half. Aranda addressed it though and did exactly what we wanted him to do, everyone should be pleased.

The coaches know alot more than us.Last year yhe coaches knew alot more about offense than we did.We improved this year offensively. I font think the defense is far off ,but they need to improve.

He needs help game planning, period.
His halftime adjustments are great but #84 wasn’t a secret to anyone.
And I’m sorry to say it but Stevens simply isn’t much of an asset for the D

This is the same shite I heard about Les and our past offense. “Coach knows best!” I think Aranda is a very good defensive mind but don’t tell me not to believe my lying eyes. The defense has looked bad. I hope they can figure it out but we definitely need to get a better pass rush.

The only thing embarrassing was the complete inability of the defense to stop a perfectly mediocre Florida offense with a severely inexperienced QB.

Finally getting a few stops in the second half doesn't overshadow an overall inept performance.

What I don’t understand is the philosophy of only rushing 3 or 4 and not blitzing and stunting more.

With our offense being so good, why doesn’t the D take more chances with pressure?

Sure we may give up a few more big plays but the offense will make up for that. And more pressure would potentially create more turnovers this more chances for the O.

The first have defense made zero sense at all. Especially against an inexperienced and supposedly immobile QB

Aranda’s halftime adjustments:

1) Read the rant
2) ?
3) Profit

I disagree. Florida put up 460 yards and 28 first downs. The first downs stat is telling as it shows how they consistently moved the ball up and down the field.

Keep in mind, we were going up against a backup (that, in my opinion, is better than Franks) with a bum knee. Trask looked great out there.

When the third-strong backup QB went in, you knew he was going to run it. He got considerable yardage every time.

We had many successful blitzes that we'd over run or Trask would simply sidestep effortlessly to avoid.

We also missed many turnover opportunities. Point being, this defense brought a whole lot back this year. I think it's fair to say that we thought this would be an elite unit. They just aren't.

Sadly, looking at the roster (Chaisson, Phillips, Delpit, Queen, Stingley, Stevens, Fulton, etc.) I don't think it's a "lack-of-talent" issue...

Some of these people on here will bitch moan and complain because they are never happy. I am enjoying this football team. So what if the defense gives up some yards and points. We winning. Be proud of these young men for coming up clutch when they need it.

First, LSU was playing a tough nationally ranked top ten team from the SEC. the idea that LSU would dominate easily on defense or offense was a pupil dream, imo. Inevitably,

It was going to be tense and hard fought on both sides of the ball. No doubt there are things that must be improved, but I feel good about the win and where we stand.

When was the last time you saw an LSU defense that is as technically unsound as this one? You can talk about gameplay all you want, that doesn’t excuse bad tackling and poor assignment reads. Those go back to coaching. Don’t even get me started on this unit playing zone coverage.

If the coach can’t get the players to a point of success in a game plan, then we see what they are made of. A bad coach keeps hammering away. A good coach will make adjustments when forced. A great coach will adjust ahead of time to fit what he has. I’ve always looked at Aranda as a great coach, but he’s just acting like a good one at the moment. Because when does this D come alive- when we go back to aggressive man.

The sheeple are out in full force. “We are best team on the plant. Don’t question anything. We are so good it is impossible for us to improve.” Ok buddy we get it. You don’t think the team needs to work on anything or improve in any way. Point taken.

The D plan in which you let the corners play 10 yards off the wide receivers and only rush 4 the entire first half giving the nicked up 2nd string quarterback 5 seconds to throw the ball and pick us apart? That’s not infuriating to you???

Without the refs Florida scores at least 11 points less. I doubt anyone bitches about allowing Florida 17.

I did note that he brought in a different package on third and long that gave up several third and long plays. Not sure what the story is there.

LSU fans: WhY dIDnT We BrInG PrEsSuRe ThE wHoLe GaMe.
Like bringing constant pressure wouldn't have made an easy adjustment for Florida and caused some big plays. We actually brought pressure several times on 3rd and it got us beat for huge first downs. We saw what happened in the slot vs their previous opponents and shut it down, and adjusted very well in the second half once we started seeing some of the same looks we were beat on in the first half. There is a reason why they are coaches and everyone here is not. Most of yall would get absolutely destroyed calling plays.
