You might want to watch one of the videos. That is the section of mast above the cab. There's about 15' of it stuck in the ground.

Did you think it landed on the street, without penetrating, in a near perfectly upright position?

I would imagine that until the overhead cranes were removed recovery teams were deemed too at risk for recovery efforts.

So in other words it didn’t go exactly as planned otherwise they would have the bodies out by now?

Wasn’t that the plan?

We’re going on 3 days after the crane debacle and still nothing has changed.

How is it that op is on the dime with the story. Updates w pics, etc. 3 posts later someone gives him props for breaking the story before the media and even twitter. OP gets 1/5 as many upvotes as the guy who is amazed by his timely post.

Not that I give a shite. Just an interesting thing to observe. Only respected OP was the one about the guy with the throwback 50s wife.

Maybe. Could have crumpled under the cab as well.

It isn't that I think the road wasn't damaged, just not sold on it going 30' deep like some are opining.

I mean, I'm sure there were several acceptable cases and then ideal cases. I would say this wasn't ideal, but one of the potential expected cases.

I would assume they weren't trying to get the other crane to hang on the building, but figured it could be a risk.

I said if the jib had broke away it would have went 30’. You suggesting a few inches of asphalt road installed on top of muck, more than likely by a shitty contractor is going to not only stop basically a tapered steel pile with tons of force behind it, but also crush the frame?

My point is their whole reasoning to implode the cranes was to get the 2 remaining bodies out ASAP and 3 days later nothing has changed, how can they claim this all went as planned and it was a success if the bodies are still in there more than likely even stuck worse than they were before, he hence the reason we haven’t heard a word in 3 days.

Another 3-4 days and there will be nothing left of those bodies. It will have been 2 weeks covered in rubble getting chewed on by sewer river rats.

I'm just not following you. You expected the whole building to be down? Or them to rush in with the bulding still in a precarious position?

Or are you just trying to throw shade?Do you think all work has stopped on the efforts?

If I had to guess the bodies are probably smashed between two floors and sitting 75 feet in the air.

And the city probably knows this but are using the recovery of the bodies as an excuse to stall

I’m guessing this circle jerk will go on for days about the crane implosion. Can someone just declare the winning poster please?

No

The whole reasoning for taking the crane down was to be able to enter the building to recover the bodies.

It’s been 3 days since they took the cranes down “as planned” and they are still trying to figure out how to enter the building.

I thought everything went as planned

Was the plan to be in there in less than 3 days? I honestly don't know.
