Our best player ever is getting left off the squad on a team playing like 5 20 year olds. That should tell you all you need to know.

I don’t buy the talent issue.
The USA has rarely been more talented than our opposition on a world stage (CONCACAF we usually were), but it is the effort.
Who is our Tab Ramos?
Who is our Jermaine Jones?
Who are the guys that you know will leave it all on the field? Effort is what brought us success, and that success got to our head.
Effort will dig us out.

Yeah, talent only comes into play when the conversation is about how we take that next step from a pseudo round of 16 World Cup team to quarterfinals and beyond. Which is something we've been trying and failing to figure out since 2002.

But, the regression lately has been so bad, that we are no longer having that conversation at the moment.

When it comes to CONCACAF, talent is never the issue. In fact, our talent pool continues to get deeper and deeper, yet we have not made a single step forward since 2010, just constant reverse. The cohesion in the team this last cycle and beginning this one is the worst I've ever seen it. That's on management, and it's alarming that it's been a problem for three different managerial regimes no (Jurgy, Bruce, GG) which tells me the problems go beyond management.

The culture of US Soccer is dreadful and everyone involved that is luck to still have a job should be ashamed of themselves.

There is an obvious fix to the effort issue but it’s taboo
