Welcome Who Dats & Who Datettes to Week 5 of the Saints Game Thread
What is this early start nonsense? After being in a top national spot for the first 4 weeks of the season, the Saints are back to the usual noon kickoff slot today as they host a somewhat surprising Tampa Bay Buccaneer team.
I call Tampa "somewhat surprising" because, not only did they just run roughshod over the LA Rams to the tune of 55 points, but they're a chip shot field goal miss away from being 3-1 just like us, but alas, they are 2-2.
Teddy Bridgewater and the offense will have to be on their game today against a TB D that intercepted Jared Goff 3 times last week and caused him to lose a fumble as well (which was returned for a TD)... but if they can keep away from hurting themselves, the offense should be able to move the ball b/c, even with 4 turnovers, the Rams still got over 500 total yards and 40 points last week
The Saints D, which has really been remarkable since Drew went out, will have to continue to be that way, esp. against an offense that has Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Bruce Arians perhaps working his biggest "QB Whisperer" miracle in Jameis Winston, though that's still to be seen. The Saints D must make Jameis look like idiot Jameis of old.
LET'S PLUNDER THEIR SHIPS AND SEND THE BUCS BACK DOWN TO DAVEY JONES' LOCKER
On the injury side of things, it'll be game 3 without QB Drew Brees, but it is nice to see he's throwing a (kids) football again. Trey Hendrickson has a neck injury that will unfortunately keep him out as well. But the Saints offense does get another weapon back as Tre'Quan Smith has been given the go-ahead to return to action from his ankle injury suffered in the Rams game. Everyone else on the active roster should be good to go.
Tampa will be without LB Jack Cichy (elbow) & WR Breshad Perriman (hamstring), while OT Demar Dotson is questionable (calf) while having only practiced on a limited basis on Thursday.
Weather: This game is in the Superdome so weather will not be an issue, but I am so ready for the cold front that supposed to come through my area tonight. Highs in the 70s tomorrow? Yes, please.
Uniforms: The Saints are going black over black for today's noon contest
Current Standings:
Saints 3-1
Bucs 2-2
Panthers 2-2
Falcons 1-3

yeah I do remember Strief & Deuce noting that he exited last week's game early injured

I'm in it to win it.
Hendrickson was hurt when the Dallas O lineman put him in a headlock. No flag on the play, of course.

Hey rt3, when is the last time the Saints didn't play a noon Sunday game until the 5th game of the season? Look that up for me.

FWL may take a show off tonight
I mean... ONLY 4 MATCHES SET

I have an unsettling feeling but I bought a half point and have the Saints winning by a FG.

ETA: I'm going to accuse you of cheating either way. It's part of my shtick and people love it and I'm here to entertain.
