I take it and from time to time it effects the ole pecker, more so when i first started it. It also gave me the screaming shits for what felt like two months when first started taking it. I've also tried Wellbutrin and Zoloft works better for me. Nothing to be ashamed about either baw. More men should do some self evaluating and get on some meds if needed instead of carrying around all the baggage or whatever.

Zoloft is the first and only SSRI I've ever tried.
When I took it, I literally felt like a zombie. I would also yawn about 20 times per minute, it was weird. I stopped taking after about 2.5 weeks. I hated how it made me feel.

I have taken it for several years and it has been good for me. I used to struggle badly with almost debilitating anxiety but was apprehensive about taking medication. Overall, it has helped my quality of life with minimal side effects.

Well said.

I tried it back a few years ago when I stopped taking Wellbutrin.
It was disastrous for me. My anxiety was through the roof and my brain and mind were so overwhelmed that I entered this state called derealization. Imagine feeling like your reality is a dream and that nothing is real. Like a bad trip after smoking rancid weed. Yeah that was me for a good 2-3 months.
I got off of it immediately and started Lexapro. It’s made me gain some weight but I otherwise feel 100x better.

Really not a thing to be ashamed of. I've had issues with anxiety at times in my adult life and I've taken SSRI medications and in fact Zoloft. I haven't for a log time. I think it's all about learning to cope with the pressures if possible but I've seen enough anxiety and depression closeup in members of my family to know it's real. There are likely as many pressures in life now as there have ever been. I'm reluctant to say there are more. Five or six generations back I'm sure my ancestors just has to work their tails off to survive.

Got told I needed it after my dad died unexpectedly.
is it proper for situational depression?
I mean, your Dad died, you are supposed to grieve.
I digress. I got up to 100mg and my dick stopped working. Told my doc, so we reduced it and got a dick pill.

Just hope when you get old you don't have to start taking all those prostate medications. If you wanna find a combination of medications that will mess up the TallyWhacker function it is the prostate meds. Enjoy things while you are young.

Took meds like said examples and developed an intense dgaf attitude. Almost ruined my marriage. Got off, dumped bad examples in my life, rediscovered my conscience and haven't looked back. My anxiety protects me. I see that now.

No but I'm on 30mg lexapro and 45mg buspar daily. I am a highly medicated person.

It’s played a PART in taking me from incapacitating anxiety/depression to normal functioning.
And as far as dicks go, I guess I’m lucky. I’ve found that it just makes me last super long and basically control when I blast off.

No surprise that someone like your MIL had a daughter who grew up to be a psychiatrist.

I've never taken one but I've had some unpleasant experiences nonetheless. When these pills first became common in,say the mid-90s mid-00s I was travelling with the pipelines and living the party life pretty hard. There would usually be a group of us that would hire on a job together and if we were four or five states away the occasional long weekend wouldn't be enough for a trip home so the wives/girlfriends would load up and come to us. Usually sans kids. Well, it seems that a good number of girls have trouble "finishing" on these drugs but they would be right on the edge for hours or even days so it really didn't hinder their sex drive so much as kick it into a frustrated overdrive. So when they were planning a weekend trip to see the boys they would lay off the medication from Mon or Tue on in order to get some good sex. Now combine that with hard liquor and probably the more illicit fuels as well and you'll see a rare fricking level of crazy. Fistfights, shattered windshields, 72-hr coroner's holds, girls who had seemed like responsible wives and mothers just leaving a bar and state with some random stranger and not answering the phone for days. I quit bringing any serious girlfriends up to see me and usually tried to skip town when the group was coming. I'm probably lumping zoloft, paxil, prozac and others all together here because I don't really remember who was taking what. I've got no first hand experience with men talk ng it. If anyone I know has they never mentioned it and they never had any psychotic episodes, (or at least none that I found out of character). But I think most people these days are aware that you either take that shite or don't take it, a five day break will very often cost you 72 hours and possibly criminal charges afterwards. I know lots of people do take it with no problem and it does seem to help them keep that even keel and function as an adult. And I should mention again that there was drinking and sometimes more involved in those episodes.
But sunshine and any kind of exhaustive physical activity are very effective mood enhancers and I would definitely try those before playing around with my brain chemistry, or that of anyone I cared about.

I read an article recently that said SSRIs help quickly with anxiety and longer term with depression.
I have gone through two difficult periods in my life where I was struggling to hold things together. Tried Zoloft the first time and Lexipro the second time (about 10 years apart. Both seemed to help stabilize me. Was on both for about a year, then slowly tapered off with no issues.

Going from Paxil to Zoloft made me incredibly horny. I started masturbating three times per day on Zoloft.

It's one of many meds that hasn't helped my wife.

Well, I dated a girl for about 7 years that was bipolar although the bipolar part wasn't discovered until toward the end.
She took Zoloft and she was one whacked out bitch.
She's a teacher now so her students have zero chance.
