I like my current acoustic and do not really want to trade it in or get a second digital.

If so, what was the cost and time duration to install?

Need some quiet practice time though for everyone.

Here is some Olga for your troubles.

I'm more of a Sonya Belousova guy myself as far as pianists go

I cant actually answer your question, but I can promise it will be a lot more to retrofit than it would have been to buy a piano with the system built in.

A few grand at least.

I personally wouldn't do it to my piano, although I did strongly consider a player system for a while. (The manufacturer doesn't offer a built in as an option.) Its just too destructive to something I want to last for many many years. I paid a premium for a very fine instrument, seems crazy to chop it up like that. Plus, like all technology, it will become obsolete and antiquated quickly.

I'm a total purist/elitist when it comes to pianos, so YMMV.

Thanks. That tends to be a general consensus to not, but they make the systems. It does seem it would cost a few thousand.

I have a Pramberger JP-131 (about 12 years old), which is a 52" upright. Love the piano, but with kids starting practice it is not the quietest. Even when you switch into practice mode (lowers felt between hammers/strings), you hear it through the house.

Another option I see they have now on the Yamahas is the Transacoustic option. Which might be worth a trade-in. It can make a U1 sound like a CFX and has the Silent Piano option.

ETA: premature postulation, but happy I got the pic in there.

This one does it for me, kind of a slimmer AT&T girl going on here. IDK might just be me.

That gif is from this performance.

I would give anything to play with her passion and skill, but I am just a novice again. I quit playing for a few decades after childhood and one of my biggest regrets.
