Jaime Lloreda. Dude was huge and had some serious rage under the surface.

People underestimate the power of actual MMA training.

I have to think Shawn Jordan wins any fight.

George atiyeh was one bad dude . Heavyweight sec wrestler and a darn good nose guard . Eric andolsec was a bruiser on the field but not the kind of guy to go looking for a bar fight . Great guy . I once saw atiyeh body slam and pin bill elko twice. And bill was a badass .

His son was a friend growing up and that dude could still whoop some fricking arse.

You are right on in not overlooking Billy Cannon from late 50’s. While Jimmy Taylor was one bad arse, Billy was well known to go over to Port Allen bars late at night where truckers armed with tire iron, knives and guns were easily provoked. Cannon evoked fear in everyone but this was not only before the rapid spread of news (even in Cantrelle’s day) but was the age of suppression of any misdeeds by football players.

Later, asa member of Oakland Raiders he was also known in Oakland as the toughest barroom brawler. Indeed, when the legendary player and barroom brawler,Ted Hendricks, was in Oakland, the local dean of sportswriters commented regarding Hendricks that “Oakland hasn’t seen the likes of a fighter like this since Billy Cannon stalked the bars”. I suppose it’s either a pity Ora blessing that Cannon’s bad arse days preceded publicity.

BTW, I saw Cantrelle fight and would never argue anyone being tougher. He had lightening fast hands made of steel much like Billy. It is the speed of hands that separate him from other powerful bruisers mentioned in previous posts.

he was literally the guy the team would call when SHTF in his era, and that included overlap with Shawn Jordan

Thats because Shawn is actually a teddy bear

I knew him in college. He can beat pretty much anyones arse, but he honestly wasnt one of those dudes that loved fighting. I know that makes no sense

I think Joe and George were brothers

Joe was a wrestler at LSU and then won an olympic silver medal

George played football and wrestled at lsu

Joe was given his house in River Bend by the Syrian govt for winning them their first ever medal

Ah!

I actually didn't know that. The sister was also friends with my sister, but I guess I didn't know dad Atiyeh's first name. What a lethal pair of brothers

A buncha Fratties wanted to jump his arse but his buddies ushered him the frick outta there quickly.

I stood way across the parking lot laughing b/c the girl kinda deserved it. She was pummelling the shite out of him and yelling something about "piece of shite little dick mfer" and shite like that. I assume she was jealous of some new poon. He just gave her a quick smack to calm her tits. She was fine.
If you're his IRL friend, ask him about it. I'm sure he'll remember it.

Art Cantrelle or Bill Elko.

Broussard Hall, circa 1980....

Bill Elko is in his room studying, and some of the track athletes, down the hall, had the stereo turned up. He walked down and asked them to turn it down. A few minutes later, it was cranked up again. He went down the hall and turned it down himself. A few minutes go by, and it's loud again. He goes down the hall, rips all the wires out the back of the stereo, and says "ya'll can come one at a time, or all at once. Doesn't matter to me."

The next morning at breakfast, the track athletes recruit Greg Cook to take care of this. He walks by where Elko is eating and knocks his milk on the floor. Elko looks up at Cook and says "pick it up..........or I'll kill you."

No more loud music.
