In my opinion, I wouldn’t risk him. Let him rest and continue to practice until Florida.

What are your thoughts?

A little game time is important. If he's absolutely ready, play him, at least a half.

rest him up and get a younger guy some reps. pretty much sit all starters after halftime.

Unless we're clicking on both sides of the ball on Saturday (which would be awesome), I don't know that this would be one of those kinds of games. Utah State was 11-2 last year and scored 50+ points in 7 of their games (4 of those were 60+). They put up 31 on Michigan State who finished with the 8th ranked scoring D and lost their only two games by single digits.

They have a pretty big NFL prospect at QB and put up 35 on #20 Wake Forrest this year (which is the most Wake has given up this year) in their 5 wins. North Carolina only scored 18 on Wake. Utah State is 19th in scoring offense, 12th in passing offense, 24th in rushing offense and 9th in total offense. So they are actually a pretty good team and a nice test on defense going into the meat of our schedule.

If he is 100% ready i would get him just enough time to get back in the rhythm of things then pull him, dude is way to injury prone to risk losing again against utah state

if he is ready he needs some reps because sitting to long doesnt help very much either

I wouldn’t sit the defensive starters until they learn how to tackle.

I would also leave the offense in to work on timing with the WRs that are filling in.

You don’t just jump into the deep end. Get some work in, and let’s face it, if he or Chaisson get dinged up again, that’s just who you are at this point.

He should play some, but not as much as he normally would. It’s just as important to get reps, as it is rest as long as he’s close to 100%.

Rather him sit and be healthy and challenge the younger kids. He will have all he wants when SEC starts up the following week. That goes for any player that's tweaked. The season is about to get tough after this last cupcake.

You've got to remember, a lot of fans on here don't keep up with college football

I went to Wake and have watched all of their games this year. The Wake D goes one deep and compares to most SEC third string. Wake has a great offense though. The Wake vs Utah St game was a shoot out, last one with the ball wins type of game. I do not see that coming for the Tigers on Saturday. LSU should have 28 at the half minimum. Utah St might get 28 for the game. Tigers roll.

In a perfect world, he'd get between 10-20 snaps.

I definitely want him to get snaps unless he's not ready. You can't really know where you are unless you play. And, he needs to know what he can do heading into Florida.

Reported in The Advocate this morning that Coach O will likely play Lawrence vs Fla, not before.

THey also lost their OC to Texas Tech and only scored 24 on Sand Deigo State.

They're good for Utah State, but they aren't a consistent scoring team. They average 38.5 points a game, but they have only scored more than 35 once. THey will be a challenge for a Non-P5 OOC game but they aren't going to actually push us. They only put up 34 on Colorado State who gave up 52 to Colorado, 55 to Arkansas and 41 to Toledo

We lost our HC and OC to Texas Tech, but we got our old coach who went to Wisconsin back.

We didn't score a lot vs San Diego state because 1) they never lose at home; and 2) they have one of the better defenses in the country. Hardly anyone predicted we would win that game. They were effective in keeping us out of the RZ, which is why our RZ stats look so bad. We usually score on big plays as our QB is pretty good at setting those up, much like your stellar QB.

Colorado State game was played during a torrential downpour, and they always play us very tough.

Not making excuses, just giving you the background.

I hope we can give you guys a decent game. We shall see.

He should play a few series if he's able. Get him back up to speed before Florida.
