Totally unnecessary and dangerous helmet-to-helmet blow delivered on Josh Allen.

And they never called the targeting? That’s where I’m confused.

They called the helmet to helmet hit. But there was an offsetting penalty

This is a real question because I don’t know. Are the targeting consequences different in the NFL than in college? The defender wasn’t taken out of the game.

fricking bullshite man. What is he supposed to do? Let Allen fall forward for 3 more yards? This league is doing everything it can to eliminate defense

Allen didn’t give himself up IMO. Tough hit but wasn’t something he should be ejected or suspended for. Just my opinion.

They don’t have “targeting” in the NFL. You can be ejected but it’s rare

He damn well knew it was a QB and lined him up for the kill shot.
The Pats were celebrating it as Allen lay there lifeless.

If the NFL is serious about player safety and removing those types of hits out of the game a hit like that should be a 6-game suspension at the very least.
Losing game checks is the only way to get the players to change.

Why does him being a QB matter?

Honestly it didn’t look like he meant to do it on purpose

That was a real piece of shite hit on the qb

This. Don't be a runner.

Oh I dont know... maybe bc he's arguably the most important player on the team.

Wrap his arms around him and push him back. NFL players don't know how to tackle. Rugby players know how to tackle a dude and prevent him from breaking free or gaining more ground. And it's not by slamming into his head with yours.

Fair enough. Allen really should have given up on the first down and slid.

Because the QB is the most important player on a team and if you injure them you have a better chance to win.

That’s a weird way to determine whether a hard hit is dirty or not.

Seems like that QB should not try to play runningback then

He was a ball carrier that had already gained 7 yards on the play and was 1 or 2 years from a first down. It was an absolutely acceptable hit and should not have been penalized. If you take that 17 jersey off of Allen and replace it with the number 33, that type of hit happens all the time.
Before any NFL player signs that fat contract, they should be required to sign a waiver about possible head injuries. If they don't want to sign they don't get to make millions playing football.
