Since there are no Dems on this board....

let me be the brave one to state a fact, and then I’ll sit back and absorb the abuse that will inevitably come.

Y’all are supporting a cult of personality. He sows distrust in every institution that doesn’t do his bidding or that dares to criticize or disagree with him—FBI, Justice Dept, Federal Reserve, NATO, the UN, liberal state governments like CA, the electoral system (“it’s rigged”), all journalism except Fox and sometimes the WSJ, the Judiciary, and the list could go on.

His core message is that all of government or civil society is broken or corrupt or rigged and that he is the only force for good and the only person you can trust. This is exactly what third world dictators communicate.

This has little to do with Dem or Rep at this point. This is about the continuation of American institutions or the unraveling of America as we know it. There is nothing conservative, in the true sense of the word, about Trump’s revolution. He is corrosive to the foundation of this country.

I happen to agree with a lot of his specific policies, but this is bigger than that. This is about whether virtue still matters. This is about whether the man we elect President should operate with dignity, decorum, and respect, or whether it’s okay for him to be a crass streetwise thug.

I for one think that virtue still matters. I urge you all to reconsider.
