My wife had a Mercedes SUV and around 30,000 miles started having suspension problems and then a wheel bearing failed. One of the electrical components failed after the warranty ran out and we decided to get rid of it with all the hassles. Not sure if I would want a 2005 model and that one looks like that one has had its share of problems.

Considering you’re going to spend a significant amount on maintenance, I’d push the budget higher and get a newer model year.

I drive 4-5K miles a yr and this would be a second car.

Do you like throwing thousands and thousands of dollars at vehicle repairs? If so, then jump on it.

Who in their right minds owns a formerly expensive German car out of warranty? A dipshit, that's who. Or Tyler Hoover. Same thing.

I'm really tempted to go buy a C43 AMG. Would be an incredibly stupid thing to do since I'm still in school, but how many people get to own an AMG in college.

Any AMG owners know how the yearly maintenance cost is compared to owning a regular Benz?

Owning a Mercedes is like dating a redhead, it's fun until things start going wrong.

Yeah, that's a no for me Dawg.

While AMGs are very affordable on the used market, you are still maintaining a $100k-$200k vehicle. Case in point, look at any of the 65 varients, you're looking around $5k for a brake job despite picking up a used one for $30k. You cannot cut the cost by buying shite quality parts at Auto one, they are not available.

Great cars. I had a 2007 bmw m5. Liked it better because it was a 6 speed manual. Yeah maintenance can be expensive but it’s worth the thrill of the ride.
