The comp sci stat would be somewhat convoluted. My team interviews many recent comp sci graduates for SDE-1 roles, and many have a solid foundation in deriving algorithms, data structures and theory. However, when it comes to actual coding many, not all, lack a significant coding background to hit the ground running without assistance.
Yea, half the people that make it through college in comp sci really don't know what they are doing when they graduate.

Curious whether or not AI integration affects the industry?

Yeah I don't believe this.
If you pass the actuarial exams and become ASA certified you will not have trouble finding work in insurance. It pays well too.

All of you that doubt this figure need to realize that these guys have run the numbers of desirable jobs in that market, compared it to the attrition rate, compared THAT to their likelihood of acquiring one of the desirable positions within the next six months, and have chosen to stay unemployed for the time being.

That’s interesting. I considered IOP but wanted to work with another demographic. I do know those who are in those spots are typically paid well and we’ve seen some of those master programs really grow here lately.

Looks like LSU has 20 programs to cut in order to save the state money

My little sister followed a path that an editor at Nat Geo told her to go down. She's had to bust her arse to get jobs and internships working as a photographer and editor, but has been successful in doing so. Definitely not a profession for the lazy and unmotivated. I can easily see 99.9% of them not being employed in that industry

Proves General Studies isnt that bad of a major.

This is where they trick you. We all know that everybody with a gender studies degree is employed at Starbucks.

if you finish a degree in computer science and you are unemployed, one of the following 3 is the likely cause.
1) you overestimate your worth, and expect way more than entry level salary (i.e., too greedy)
2) you are looking for a really specific role or market (i.e., too picky)
3) you are a social retard who can't succeed in the real world (i.e., too weird)
ETA- I assume they are talking about recent graduates.
