quote:Have you been listening to the analyst? It's all about Brady and Burrow. Everyone has seen what E has done. For years. What we saw Saturday is something new. I absolutely believe an SEC team will give him an OC job after this year. I'll even take it farther and say people are giving him credit as an OC right now. He already has the title of passing game coordinator. Which I'm not sure if you saw, was what we mostly did Saturday. You also have O saying he's calling plays. You have Burrow saying he developed the offensive concept they have. Do you think all of this is a secret?
I just dont think a big time program would role the dice just yet until a lot more questions are answered.
Teams know this stuff and they will come.

My reply: We will never lose a coach to money and he’s our OC next year!
He’s the OC this year.
I’ll guarantee he doesn’t stay for anything under $1.6M. His goal is to 100% become an HC in a hurry

O has said Brady is calling plays but every other source says that is not the case, it makes you wonder if O heard the question.
I am telling you, we have seen many many coordinators show signs of brilliance but not be consistent as defenses adapt.
Burrows spectacular start also will raise questions about it being a result of a great QB or a great coordinator. Getting into a 10 million dollar contract for the dude will not be something others do any time soon.
LSU is in the drivers seat, they actually know what is going on behind the scenes.

Whose knows if we score on bama lol

Lol A&M thought they'd lure Aranda from us. All we heard about was how much money they had to burn and how they were going to outspend us to get their guy.
Aranda is still happily at LSU.

So what are you saying? If we have this success all year and another SEC team comes calling for him, we let him walk out the door?

Jesus man, I never said O did not know who was calling plays you dim wit.
Patterson and All American , his stats and rating are almost identical from his time at Ole Miss and Michigan, you obviously are not capable of rational thought.

He said Brady calls the plays. You said that may not be true. Elaborate on this? what could he have heard differently? Enlighten me.
quote:You are so right. That Michigan offense looks just like the Freeze offense. You smart boss hog.

You still didn't answer my question btw...

Yes, everyone is impressed with our offense since he came on board. Yes, his former coworkers give him stellar reviews when it comes to work ethic, knowledge, etc.
At the same time, he was a GA 3 years ago. He doesn’t have a recruiting record to evaluate. It’s not clear how much of the in-game decision making is coming from him vs. E. And even if he is making the in-game decisions, he has two games under his belt (one vs. a power 5 opponent).
I’m not saying this because I’m down on Joe Brady - I absolutely fricking love what he has brought to this program. And I believe he will have opportunities if he wants them when this season is over. The question is, where will those opportunities be?
No successful power 5 program is going to hand their offensive future over to someone with one year of playcallimg experience and no recruiting record. He may get a shot at a smaller school or a recovering program but is that better than what he has now?
He can go try to prove himself somewhere with less talent or he can stay here and be loaded with studs every year. He can risk a black mark on his resume, or he can stick around knowing that Ensminger is retiring soon. It seems likely to me that LSU will at least give him a Co-OC title if things continue down this road. Can those lesser schools even justify the OC salary it would take to pull our Co-OC away at that point?
My point is - everyone needs to relax. Orgeron and Woodward will do what it takes to keep him here. That may or may not mean he’s the full OC next year, but he is in the best place to climb the ladder and he will be paid what he’s worth.
Just my 2 cents.

The question still stands. If we have this success all year and another SEC team comes calling for him, do we let him walk out the door? It's a simple question. The rest is meaningless.

Yeah I accidentally clicked submit before I was done. No way they let him walk. What SEC school is going to offer him something that we can’t?

Texas homos with a crystal ball......

They’re pretty butthurt. Understandable though....their biggest home game in a decade, played above their heads, crowd and team put their whole hearts into the game....and they lost.
To see LSU come in and light them up must have been pretty disheartening. They’re clinging to whatever hope they can now lol

If I had to bet, this off-season promoted to Co-OC with a significant pay bump and an agreement to be full time OC in a year or two when E’s contract runs out.

With our new offense, the QB has multiple options of where to go with the ball on every play. We just need to have someone to execute the offense with the same efficiency as Joe. We have a very fluid scheme based on what the defense is trying to do on a given play. Our offense is in a good place schematically.
