The movie was solid but had way too many instances where a joke was told to break the tension. Takes you out of the moment if the audience is constantly laughing. I appreciated the banter between the characters to an extent but it was overboard at times.

Does the movie have the gang bang or the magic turtle in it?

Thankfully they spared us from Stephen king's pedophilia.

I'm not aware of the magic turtle, there was a stuffed turtle on a desk though.

Haven't seen it yet.

About to go this week to see it in a decently retro old school movie theater. $6 during the day, $8 at night.

Quite a few beers on tap too, large slice pizza. Looking forward to it.

Why didn't they ever address what happened to Bower's dead friend who drove him around to kill the Losers?

Did he go away when they killed Pennywise?

Yeah probably. Wasn’t as good as the first, but I still enjoyed it. 7 compared to the first being a 9.

I asked Mrs Vox if she caught this, too. Not sure 8f it gets handled in the book.

No, that part was added.

Were they trying to make it out like he had a chance with Eddie by giving Eddie a wife that’s “overbearing” (i.e. normal)? Hollywood/writers like to sometimes present married men that have a gay friend in love with him as having overbearing & unloving wife to imply there is a chance. Not sure if this by gay writers dealing with overbearing mommie issues or straightish writers trying to play up sexuality as being fluid (unless person is gay then it’s written in stone).

I guess they didn’t just exclude Beverly sexing all the boys to bring them together to take moral high ground due to it weirdness in book & sexualizing kids (also making King’s stand in character get the sloppiest version).

No. They were showing that Eddie basically married a version of his mother.

They forced a lot of gay into this movie, but that instance wasn't a part of it.

Richie being gay or implied being so was typical Hollywood.

There were a lot of meta moments in this movie as well. Some more obvious than others.

All of the kid flashbacks felt super redundant

Some past good films about friendships growing up would have been ruined if made in today’s climate (and probably will be if remade). Watching current movies or shows that contain same sex childhood friendships growing up any time there is an awkward pause I start to wonder if they are about to ruin it.

Just realized the Eddie clone was the tool on the dock season of The Wire.

How is this almost 3 hours long? The 2 hours and change of the first one was nice. I have a hard time believing this needs to be so long. I'll find out soon enough though.

It didn't really feel like 3 hours because each scene was pretty short. The scenes didn't take a long time to build and that's a good thing. The art/cinematography was great, but the movie itself felt like a copy of chapter 1.

It was a perfect millennial SJW movie though. Much of the enlightened population is gay, small town people are retards who don't like gays, and mean words kill the bad guy.

It was a good movie, but I think Chapter 1 was scarier. The chapter 2 scary scenes were very predictable after seeing chapter 1.

Wasn't that the kid with the hair spray and lighter in the first one?
