Fracking is by far the main reason American carbon emissions are declining so much

Natural gas emits 50% less CO2

Fracking and nuclear energy are very important pieces to reducing our carbon footprint

At least in short term until we fully transition to solar and wind.

Natural Gas is CH4. Burning it produces one molecule of CO2 and two of water. It's about as clean as it gets short of pure hydrogen.

No doubt NG is the best alternative of the fossil fuels if the emissions are closely monitored but it's far from safe. You would be shocked to know how much methane is blown into the atmosphere. Fracking in nothing more than a method for extracting oil and gas from the ground.

Honestly, shouldn't all the moronic resources that have been put into electric cars, wind turbines, Solyndra copies, etc., be put into nuclear and hydrogen?

New nuclear facilities are basically meltdown proof and if fusion is ever harnessed its the most powerful, unlimited zero emission source in tbe known universe.

It's what powers fricking stars. There's nothing better.

Don’t worry everyone one reading this and all of there children will be dead and gone in the short term as we transition full to solar and wind. Let me know when we are actually able to get ride of Diesel engines for tractors John Deere is working to crack that nut their first try the SESAM tractor could go 4-5 hrs then charge an hour and eventually like any battery wears down over time. They learned so much on that one the new idea is a tractor with a half mile extension cord. Come on this is like in the 60’s when they thought we be the Jetsons today.

Will never, ever, never, ever happen. Only the ignorant think so.

How many petroleum products are used in making your precious solar and wind generators.

If we ever have enough wind turbines for 7 billion people the earth might fly out of its orbit.

wind turbine dumping story

Turbines only last 20-25 years. Oh no, what to do with the waste!

...and we should be extracting EVERYTHING we possibly can, as cheaply as possible.

I would prefer we do it at a rate which sustains $5/mcf and $60/bbl.

You will get NOx at high combustion temperatures. That’s why catalytic converters are important. With that said methane is a very clean burning fuel. The downside compared to other fuels is energy density.

Furthermore, I sat through a seminar on the O&G opportunities in the Permian Basin and the speaker mentioned that fracking technology combined with horizontal drilling is equivalent to 40 conventional wells. That is, for every one fracking-HDD well you need the equivalent of 40 conventional wells. That is a significantly less impact on the surface environment.

Fracking is the main reason why my oil and gas portfolio has tanked.

"Carbon footprint" is the equivalent "science" term to "transgendered". Meaningless, made up, crap to objective and observable reality.
