And Louisiana Tech threw the ball 54 times.
If we cant block their front, then we're in trouble the rest of the year. Our OL did a solid job all around this past weekend, they SHOULDN'T have much trouble with this Texas front 6.
Edit- and after watching a good bit of this game, LT was not just doing quick dink and dunk passes, play action mixed in with ~3 seconds of holding onto the ball before passing and very very little wins by the pass rushers.

And Burrow had one rush for 2 yards against Geo. South.
I think both stats are equally meaningless for the game this coming Saturday.

They beat Georgia so STFU

This literally makes zero sense. Burrow didn't run much, LT passed the ball 54 times and Texas got to the QB once and never pressured him the whole game throughout.

I’m sure they emptied the defense playbook in game 1 vs LaTech

Do you think maybe LSU has some QB runs designed into its offense that they didn't show?
Do you think maybe Texas has some blitz/pressure packages designed into their defense that they didn't show?
Both teams played against scrubs and were holding back plays on offense and defense. I'm sorry if that literally makes zero sense to you.

I think it certainly says more that UT wasn't able to get pressure without blitzing than it does that LSU didn't rush Burrow more
Your comparison isn't very good

Did you miss where LT actually threw the ball 54 times and Texas actually only sacked the QB once and pressured him 0 other times? Your comparison again made zero sense. No shite Burrow didn't have much yardage on the ground when he didn't run the ball but once. LT Actually threw the ball 54 times, do you think they just rushed 2 guys the entire game and dropped 9? Texas could not get pressure on him all game despite them knowing he was throwing it the majority of the time. This isn't about someone not doing something much and thus little stats there, this is about Texas' inability to pressure the QB despite knowing it was coming most of the game.

I see what u did there baw

The difference is that we executed on what we did attempt and Texas didn’t execute on what they attempted. It isn’t like they decided that they didn’t want to rush the passer because they were playing Tech. Really fricking dumb take

La Tech threw the ball in under 3 seconds almost every down. The 0 sack/pressure is not indicative of how well their D played.

Literally finishing up 1st half watching and while they do throw the ball quick a good bit, that is not even close to accurate to say they did it every time. I saw some play action, some 3+ second hold times of the ball, with some deep throws. Texas could not get pressure on him consistently, and they've brought a handful of blitzes so far. Their front and pass rushers simply arent doing a good job.

You don't really know if it's a dumb take or not until the game is played. If UT doesn't get any pressure on Burrow, then it's a dumb take. I suspect they will get pressure on Burrow, but that the plays called will let Burrow get rid of the ball before they get to him.
But a real dumb take is thinking that the Tech game is any indication of what Texas can do on defense.

He's saying your comparison is a dumb take, which it is, because it literally makes zero sense to throw out there "Well burrow only had 2 yards on 1 rush" when someone is talking about how a team pressured a QB on 54 pass attempts
There's a big difference on how something does over a huge sample size vs. talking about how someone didnt do much over 1 play

Emptying the defense playbook has nothing to do with their front line not being able to beat that of La Tech.
I’ve been saying it all week but they just lost too much on defense. I don’t think they’ll hold up on that side of the ball

To counter Tech, yes
To counter LSU, we will see some new wrinkles
