So why is the younger generation increasingly starting off their professional careers buried in debt? The senator's own textbooks, which are required reading in some college classes, provide a convenient glimpse at one of the many reasons: inflated textbook costs, only made possible by the dizzying federal loan cycle. As one student pointed out to The Daily Wire, the class he's taking this semester on bankruptcy requires him to purchase Warren's textbook and supplementary text that total over $300.

Currently on Amazon, a new copy of Warren's "The Law of Debtors and Creditors: Text, Cases, and Problems" costs students $258.97. If that's too pricey, you can always rent it for the relative "bargain" price of $122.49. If you need the 2019 statutory supplement "Bankruptcy and Article 9," though, you'll have to come up with another $60.00.

Spending 300 on a book would teach a lot of people about bankruptcy

She still wants to make her money, just get us to pay for it. Not the students

Sounds like a great way to get the people making textbooks guaranteed money.

Every leftist idea with respect to college seems to bolster to university industrial complex. Guaranteed money for student loans, guaranteed textbook benefits, etc.

When do we start holding universities responsible for wasting money?

now, that is hilarious. Warren, Bernie, and other socialists arenot middle class, or even lower tier upper class....they are rich, rich, rich. They are not worried about their next meal or paying their taxes so anything to get them elected is what they will spout even if socialism will ruin this country.

But, republicans cannot complain about this tactic of "say what they want to hear" even if it is not true.......Donnie boy has that tactic down pat.

The extremes are a mess within both parties---all they want to do is win the election regardless of the cost to the average USA citizen and their futures.

It's amazing to me that in 20 years, Warren has gone from "Republican" to batshit crazy prog filth senator to potential Democrat nominee for president.

We need to do a better job pointing out the liberal hypocrisy on University and College tuition costs. What a racket!

Far more egregious than anything the Koch brothers have done. They literally lie to these kids and strap them with lifelong debt for degrees in menial fields where you'd never see a return. It's pure evil.

I’m pretty wealthy but still have a lot of student debt. She won’t give me relief

This is going to be the bad student relief program.

If she cared about access to college, she would self publish and make the electronic version free.

Which in turn would create social pressure on other professors.

But if we just forgive student loans and make public universities free; then she can triple the price of her books.

How about colleges and universities that donate millions of dollars to political campaigns? Seems to me like they could save that money and reduce tuition.

Exactly. If you think it's expensive now, just wait until it's "free".

I also love her and Bernie's attitudes toward profits.

I also find it interesting that these books are changed out often. Meaning that used books are not usually available because the course requires a new edition.

Chief Sitting bullshite wants to forgive student debt because it doesn't cost her anything.

If she really wants to help students, why doesn't she give her book away for free?
