Perhaps jumping the gun a bit as he looked decent last week but could we still trade him after a year and a half with the saints?

For God's sake. Give the kid a chance. Payton said he was sick. He looked good the week before (14/19 134 yards 1 TD). It's preseason.

Payton obviously sees something there. The man knows more about quarterbacks, offenses, and football than all of us put together. I really dont think it's fair to want to take the car away from Teddy when he hasn't even been given the keys yet.

Jesus Christ. He didn't play great in one half of a preseason game and now you not only want to dump him, you're wondering if he still has trade value?

Stop posting.

I feel like people who have no idea what they are talking about were waiting for him to have a subpar performance to claim he sucks. It’s fricking weird because he is a proven nfl quarterback who had a good game just last week.

And, not only do they claim he sucks apparently they think teams will be crawling over each other to throw us assets to take him off of our hands.

TB will most likely go somewhere else after this season, become a starter, then all of these posters will bitch how we let him walk and he's a top 10 QB....

This is my favorite argument formulation on this board.

"Ingram Sucks! We should trade him for a first rounder"

One more awful performance and what little trade value he has left will be gone.

Remember when Drew threw 5 picks against Atlanta? Some people wanted him gone too.

I'm not taking sides here but this is more than a half of a preseason game. I want to believe in him but he hasn't shown me anything in his entire career except a bogus pro-bowl that in my opinion wasn't deserved. God, I hope I'm wrong.

I want to believe he can develop or identify a future star, but I think the jury is still out (mainly because he has not been too pressured to do so yet).

I think it is too early to throw in the towel on Teddy. However, what has he shown when given the chance since he got here? He does not seem to have confidence in his arm. He also has not really done much in his career. I think we need to temper expectations a bit if many are expecting him to be the heir apparent. He still has a ways to go to get that title.

Also, you talk about Payton's knowledge of QBs. He has a phenomenal knowledge of offenses and schemes, but other than lucking into Drew, what QB has he targeted and/or developed that has done anything with the Saints?

when would this QB have had to do something for the Saints. We've had a HOFer starting the whole time.

Do you trust Taysom Hill to be QB#2 all season? I don't care if TB is the future or not, the team still needs a competent backup QB that can manage a game if Drew gets knocked out. He at least serves that purpose. Who's out there right now on the market that's better than TB?

What does this even mean? Payton has been a head coach for 1 team and has had the same QB for that 1 team the entire time. Man people are dumb on here

I do trust Taysom Hill to be that guy. He has the "it" factor. The team rallied behind him. Why search the market for someone who is already on the team. TB isn't going anywhere, he's still one of our backup QBs, but if the unthinkable happened, we'd stand a much better chance with Taysom as the leader.

Since we're going with absurd statements, he took a player that was replaced by Flutie midseason, then the team used a top 5 pick to get a rookie, and didn't offer him a deal and allowed him to become a FA, and turned that guy into a sure things for 1st ballot HoF.

He also took an undrafted QB from E. Illinois and developed him into a Pro Bowl starter before leaving to make the aforementioned HoF guys career happen.
