I still just cant get over the fact that O wasted two offseasons refusing to allow his receivers to get adequate reps.

Also Ensminger, Canada and Sullivan. Seems like with all of that experience someone other than a low level assistant coach would have thought of this. How many NFL teams did they visit last year? None of those guys mentioned it?

That's what I wondered.

Making sure your WRs catch enough balls is an obvious one that went overlooked by him for two years. What about the small details that champions need to do that others aren't doing? If we can't get the big things right how can we have confidence that he's getting the details right?

Exactly. It's like a black hole and just sucks you in. BJ is hands down the best troll I've come across. It's beyond impressive. It's almost a science at this point.

Seems like that would be a fireable offense for a HC of a top football program to go that long neglecting to address such a critical issue.

Well, that leaves out how many times you changed your story when you were wrong about this.

I reported what I was hearing, which, at the crux of the matter was accurate. Nit-pick away! LOL!

Again:
Chase confirms that LSU WRs were not getting required mega-reps on the Jugs machine.

AND, more importantly, they are getting them now.

All the rest is nonsense noise.

You know typing things in bold and all caps doesn’t end an argument right?

You are delusional.

Great question! I could type out an answer for you, but I think this article from ESPN will do a far better job than I ever could.

Can we all just concede that last year they didn’t have to catch 10,000 balls so he will stop posting it like it process his previous posts?

question for those w/ more football knowledge than me. i have no doubt that the jug machine drills are very important. I see all the great NFL WR doing these. A question i have is that, presumably, catching a ball from a jug is a different challenge than catching a ball while in a full out sprint with an SEC DB on your arse (?). does the sheer volume of jug catching carry over to a live action situation? or are there other things they do (ex: 7 on 7) that accomplished this? etc.

Juggs can be used in running drills, but more often they are used in stationary drills to vastly improve strength, conditioning, and eye-hand coordination. And also used in one-hand catch conditioning (important because refs are letting DBs get away with grabbing a WRs arm more lately)

The ball hits the hands at a velocity that simulates a 15 to 25 pound weight. Catching a ball with that much force requires great strength and solid mechanics, particularly at awkward angles.

WRs often have difficulty with one hand position or another. Try holding your thumbs together, then making a one-yard radius circle around from high to low. When you get down to 4 o'clock around to 7 o'clock, most WRs need a lot of work on hand mechanics at that point. Also, many need a lot of work on the over-the-shoulder catches.

Nothing replaces 100, 200, or 300 reps a day working on these mechanics. A QB can't make that many throws to 10 or 20 receivers a day. No way.

Rohan was a stud, and was held back by LSUs antiquated passing scheme.

And LSU's passing records in 01, 03, 06, and 13 don't make the top-200 all-time. Who knows how far down those numbers are, because I can't find any lists that go that low in yardage.

LSU was a great running team. Great passing program? C'mon man.

I'd say this is the dumbest thing I am going to read all day but it's only 1:30 PM and you are not showing any signs of slowing down.

It was mid July and you were still insisting the WRs weren't getting enough reps with the jugs. I don't know why you are trying to back peddle out of this. Everyone saw how big of a deal you were making out of the "lack of jug work." Hell, it even became a running joke for a little while.

If Burrow passes for 4,000 yards this year, something has gone horribly wrong with our offense. We don't need nor want to pass the ball that much.
