That was the best live music venue ever to hear a concert. I have one of the ticket stub posters hanging in my man cave. Some pretty major bands played there and I think just about every concert is accounted for on it. Pretty cool keepsake

Back in the day, it was the southern version of the Fillmore's.

What a place, what a time in history!! Was lucky enough to catch a few shows there before it was over.

Virtually every big rock act played the Warehouse. It was a stop on every major tour.

I work with a guy who recently retired who said mom managed that place for a while. He met quite a few folks, had some great stories. Had pictures to back most of them up. Wish I had seen a few acts there myself.

I read where no single stage in New York
Chicago or Los Angles had more Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees play than The Warehouse . Here ‘s a dozen or so
Grateful Dead
Allman Brothers Band
Bob Dylan
Bob Marley
The Who
Pink Floyd
Z Z Top
The Doors
Elton John
Rod Stewart
Joe Cocker
Fleetwood Mac
I believe I read it’s about 60 now
So many crazy stories about that place

The down voter probably not even born when this place was going strong. Kind of an ignorant thing to down vote.

The Allman Brothers Band played the first 3 New Year Eve shows- and a total of 13 times the first 2 years the Warehouse was open . For decades this was New Orleans’ fav band. .

Saw many great acts there. I remember one incident very well. Me and a buddy went to see Humble Pie. Didn’t have tics, but thought we could score a couple outside the Warehouse. Jammed pack couldn't find any. Walked around back by railroad tracks looking to maybe sneak in. No luck, but did see a window. We climbed up to window, could see and hear pretty well. Digging the concert we felt rocks pelting us from behind. It was a couple of cops throwing rocks at us, laughing their asses off. We scrammed quick.

One of the best stories I heard of sneaking in was for a Peter Frampton concert. He played 2 shows one night. Back in ‘89 on a radio show a guy says he and his buddy had tics for first show . One had a tic for second performance the other did not , so his buddy hid in the corner in a large trash bag at end of the concert and waited for his friend to tell him the coast was clear when they let people in for the second show . Things people did to see their bands when they couldn’t get a ticket. ??
