First time season ticket holder Q&A
Posted on 8/13/19 at 7:22 am

This will be my first season as a STH holder and I’m freaking stoked. I have a few questions that I was hoping a few STHs can answer.
1. When do the tickets typically get shipped?
2. Is a parking pass worth it?
3. How does the pregame beer garden work?
Thanks baws, if you have any other recommendations let me know!

1. Don't remember exactly, but closer to season than expected. You will get them on your SeatGeek account soon.
2. I don't think a parking pass is worth it. Park next to the Lamar building under the interstate or next to company burger.
3. Beer starts 2 hours pre game and goes to 30 mins before tip. Usually 5-6:30. Everyone gets 2 beers but you can sneak more if you care. You can bring them in the game.

Is this free street parking?

Company burger / warehouse district you have to pay until 7. Under interstate near lamar building is free.
I have parked in the lot adjacent to the box office and it is extremely convenient, just not worth the money with the other options near the arena.

Basically, you should be able to find relatively close parking for free.

1. Generally a few weeks before the season starts, like someone said should be available soon on seatgeek.
2. For most people no, however I have friends who drive in from Houma area, northshore, BR, etc., in that case it might be worth it.
3. 5:00 to 6:30, have to go thru main security check first, 2 free beers plus popcorn, other snacks, tea, if weather is bad they will cancel it. If you bring a few bucks to tip the beer folks they will generally let you grab an extra beer or two which you can bring in to the arena.

Parking meters are in effect until 7 - get the app and its only a couple bucks to park at 6 and enjoy the beer garden for games at 7.
My problem with the Parking Lot is if you stay until the end of the game it can take a long time to get out. You can walk over by the Rouses quicker and there will be no traffic over there

Park for free under the overpass on Lafayette street behind Lamar advertising

Pro tip: if you go to the game but don’t plan on drinking the beers, go through the gate and collect the bands anyway. They do not change them. You can roll up to a later game and have eleventy billion hands.
Park on the street and pay the metered parking. If you have a handicap tag, it’s free, no metered parking.

That sounds like a move for whoever the DD in our group is for that game.

Depending on how many tickets you have and the location, they will throw in a parking pass. Ours last year was in the surface lot between the Arena and Champion Square garage.
It took 15-20 minutes from seat to my front door. I liked it so much that I'd pay for that lot if offered, but I wouldn't pay for the garages that are held up by pedestrian traffic crossings.

4 club. I know when we had 3 the pass was not offered, but I'm unsure if it's tied to the number of seats, like if 4 lower bowl corner seats would qualify.

Has anyone had any issues parking here? It looks kinda sketchy on google earth but i feel like if a good amount of people are parked here we should be good

for some reason I am missing the home opener game. I brought this up to my rep, she asked if I was sure. I sent a screen cap showing I am missing that game yesterday, but still haven't heard back.
