Why Texas Fans think they will win...

I've been browsing Texas forums and the most common theme of why Texas will win is because SEC defenses suck... They believe that SEC defenses are not designed to stop up-tempo air raid offenses and only good against smashmouth 1970s offense. It is hilarious how wrong they are. They think the SEC defenses have good numbers because all sec offenses suck, so therefore sec defense sucks, which means (insert worthless big12 defense) has a better defense than LSU. Therefore Texas will score 40 points on LSU, and there is no way LSU could score enough points on Texas' superior defense to compete.
Transitive property?
Edit: they do have a great QB, which is why they can score many points. But they think he is good enough to score 40-50 points on likely the best secondary in the country. That is just blindness. I do not expect a blow out, but I do expect a 7-14pt LSU win.

According to the ones I’ve encountered, this is why they will win:
1. “wE bEaT gEoRgIa”
2. They think Ehlinger is the Tom Brady of college football.
3. Herman walks on water.
4. “They’re BAAAAACKK!” (Insert eye roll)

If they're going with, "SEC defenses suck," then they literally are retarded. Good gracious.

God forbid some folks a top 10-ranked team’s fan base think they can win a home game. The absolute horror. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrolleyes.gif)

The factors I keep seeing mentioned are:
1) superior coaching
2) superior QB
3) our ineptitude in last year’s Bama game
4) home field advantage
5) their success against Georgia
6) our new offense is what their defense sees every week (and LSU - in our 2nd game - will not be as adept at it as other Big XII teams)
7) Herman’s history of success when an underdog
Did I mention they have zero respect for Coach O???

As far as I can tell Texas has a very good QB. And Herman has recruited well. Talented but inexperienced defense.
Yep the big 12 runs a lot of spread and RPO looking stuff. The QB accounted for 40 touchdowns last year. Only 5 interceptions.
Big Challenge. For LSU.
Pretty sure LSU wins by 7 to 10 points

I’ve had a Texas fan yapping in my ear through text for 2 weeks. They really think they have a chance. They are delusional! I’m just sitting back and enjoying this ride

They claim they smashed Georgia but only beat a unmotivated Georgia team by 7

the we beat UGA referral???? i could have swore we spanked UGA as well last year and UGA was more pumped for the LSU game then when they were left out of the playoff to play texas. LSU 34-24.

I do love that 2 years in a row we will get to break a team "that is back" early in the season I hope we destroy them and put them on the same track we put Miami on last year. From "back" to having a new coach.

I do feel for the LSU boys because louisiana heat is no where near as brutal as that austin heat.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

If defense wins championships and Big 12 defenses are so good, why can’t any big 12 teams win a playoff game? I say their defenses are designed to stop the up tempo, throw it all over the field football of their conference but they can’t succeed outside of their league. We can still line it up and run power right down their throat...how they gonna stop that!

He was pedestrian throwing the ball vs GA with a much more more experienced team.
He ran well, particularly in the RZ.

Sam is a very good QB. They believe that their safeties will roam to stop the run. They’re not worried about the LSU passing game because they see better passing in their league. They believe though they’re replacing 8 starters on defense the new guys make up for it in talent even though they’ll lack experience. QB run has given LSU fits in the past like Mississippi State. This was what my Texas buddy told me yesterday.
So needless to say I can’t wait to watch it with him![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Icongeauxtigers.png)

Texas has a good program, good players and a good coach and so does LSU.
Offense give the edge to Texas
Defense give the edge to LSU
Both teams will score over 20 points and if this game is a high scoring affair with both teams going over 30 points then I give the edge to Texas as Herman will never put on the brakes. I just see it in "O"s demeanor on the sideline and with a lead he gets conservative with play calling and for sure when he gets close to the red zone.
Not bashing "O" but I just do not believe "O" is suited for an all out fast tempo high scoring offense.
I hope I am wrong and will be happy to admit it.
Any fan from either team that is chalking up a win for this game is looking through rose colored glasses

Let’s just settle this on the field
