Most people do not have an issue with legal immigration. In fact all legal immigrants I have encountered are more proud to call themselves Americans than our liberal born ins.

One, in particular, is a pressure vessel welder that I used as a vendor on several projects.

He is a legal Mexican immigrant who is helping the rest of his immediate family (still in old Mexico) also go through the process legally. So far he has managed to financially help about half of them get here legally. And they all work, pay taxes, and don't leech off the government.

It actually pisses him off when he hears people talk about how messed up America is... first time I heard him speak up about it was in response to someone complaining about the economy crashing and country going to hell because of George Dubya Bush...

He was just casually listening but suddenly stood up and said something along the lines of, "You all are so blessed. You go home to food, good houses, clean water and safe neighborhoods. If you think it's that fricking bad you should go spend a month in my old neighborhood".

I do.

Illegal immigration is part of the problem, but it's LEGAL immigration that is the bigger problem here.

Every time you say you want immigrants but they have to be LEGAL, you're green lighting more Democrat voters.

This is a trope that needs to be corrected if we’re going to be honest about our demographics crisis.

Legal immigration good, illegal immigration bad. Who cares? Mass immigration at the rate we currently have it is all bad, both legal and illegal.

So true. I dont think most people realize the companies hold the individuals visa. Its why they can pay such low wages and replace US workers. The immigrant has no choice, if he tries to find another job, or complains, they jerk his visa and send him home.

The immigrant should be able to control his visa, it would force the companies to pay higher wages, and ultimately hire more US workers and less immigrants.

I love these altruistic tech companies, who trash workers, export jobs overseas, keep their cash offshore, then scream when tariffs are put in place. We have made chini the evil one (and yes they are) but the Apples of the world are the wizards behind the curtain....while they give the liberal crowd an apple sticker to put on their electric car (fueled by electricity generated by fossil fuels) and charge them double what the price should be for an iphone.

You must keep in mind, many of these legal immigrants are through chain migration. In many instances a person will import mothers, fathers, etc. Older, who dont know the language, have few skills other than manual labor, and are nothing but a burden on the social system.

Im all for a merit based system. Heck I agreed with what Trump asked for decades ago, fast tracking these rich foreigners that go to our top universities, keep them here, get married and have some chillen.

Most people have no problem with legal immigration. However, there should be quotas and limits on who (and from where) we allow in to this country.

There are already checks and balances in the legal immigration system
