Dan Borne appreciation thread

I know this is random, but I would like to take this time to appreciate Dan Borne. He’s a really great PA announcer, and a great poet apparently as he’s the one who wrote the poem about Saturday Night in Death Valley.
If you watch some other teams the PA announcers are just so bland, especially Auburn’s. In the miracle at Jordan Hare, AU’s PA announcer just says “Marshall’s pass complete to Ricardo Louis for the Auburn touchdown” in the most monotone voice ever. There’s nothing better than hearing Dan Borne’s signature “SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORREEESSS” after a big touchdown.

Dan Borne is got dang national treasure. It’ll be a sad day when he’s no longer the voice of Tiger Stadium

Dan thought a class in media broadcasting at NSU. I believe it was under the speech dept, Speech 303, circa 1971.

I thought the same when Sid Crocker retired from being the voice of Tiger Stadium, and PMAC, but Dan has been a pleasure.

Is he the guy who was killed in car accident with his wife or was that their play by play guy?

He was a Thibodeaux High Tiger way before he was an LSU Tiger. says Goofy

That was their radio play by play guy. He was fairly new. Their old one died from cancer a few years before if I remember right.

“Tiger fans...”
This was a running joke when I came down for the Alabama game with my sister and bro in law last year.
On the drive down I pointed out how often Borne says Tiger fans throughout the course of a game and then for the rest of the day I'd randomly throw in a "Tiger fans.." at the beginning of a statement
"Tiger fans, please direct your attention to me getting another beer."
"Tiger fans, I'm headed to the bathroom."

Borne can kick rocks. Doesn’t bother me as much in football, but it’s in sufferable at Basketball. I think he talks to hear himself talk. That and every break in the action is a damn commercial

Dans good- but I liked Sid Crocker better.
