I am looking for serious discussion. Someone has already said that EBR is not, after someone said it is. The reason I am asking this is because I didn't think there were any sanctuary cities in Louisiana, but I am not 100% sure.
Political discussion should probably be posted on Political Talk.
And your answer could have been provided with a simple google or internet search.
I thought you weren’t supposed to post every thought that pops into your head

I don't know where you live..but around my area all of the "foreign" workers are here by permit..they are brought in by bus and returned home the same way. Farmers are allowed a certain number of workers and are strictly monitored..
I'm certain that most farmers in Louisiana operate as described above..as for construction, well that's a different story. I'm sure that you can find the illegals in great abundance in those industries.

The thing about New Orleans being a "Sanctuary City" is that guideline is part of a federal consent decree with the Justice Department and a federal judge. No Louisiana politician on the state or city level can do anything about it.

The Justice Dept. Agreed to allow N.O. to be a Sanctuary City?

Actually, no. According to the feds, who get to make these definitions up as they go along, there are no “sanctuary cities” in Louisiana.

God his ads are a joke. I’d rather JBE remain in office than someone who’s running on “TRUUUUUUUUMP”
At this point, he is just a distraction. He'll find his way to a page in some historical write up of this time, but it's a classic example of having so much money that you become bored. Outside of his rich friends, nobody knows him outside of Baton Rouge.

Center For Immigration Studies Map
According to this map NOLA is the only one in Louisiana. Those Rispone commercials are cringe worthy. He needs a new media consultant.

Prior to the 2014 Federal Consent Decree written by the Justice Dept, NOPD worked with ICE. Starting in 2016 it was forbidden.

New Orleans police will no longer cooperate with federal immigration enforcement, a momentous change likely to elicit denunciations from opponents of such "sanctuary city" policies.
The new regulations mark a sharp departure for a department that until recently actively participated in immigration sweeps and detained people suspected of being in the country illegally
quote:
the new policy is the result of long negotiations with federal authorities. "The updated policy establishes a clear set of guidelines for officers that focus on protecting public safety and building trust between the community and the NOPD," he said.
"The Department of Justice, the federal consent decree monitor and the federal judge overseeing the consent decree have approved the revised policy."

I like the ad where the guy says he would do everything the opposite of Gov Edwards. So I guess he's pro choice, which is an odd platform for a conservative.
