I believe it was the 4th OT and TAM was up 3. The coaching staff decided not to put the ball in the air (inside the 15) and basically played for the Fg and another OT.... Very similar to decision a decision late vs ND in bowl game prior . I Personally believe this is where both games were lost.

I'm curious / hoping the "new" offense will encourage them to go for the kill going forward

I personally believe we won that game 3 different times. I think your beef is misguided.

The game was lost on the final A&M drive in regulation. Defense failed to stop A&M on a 4th & 18 and then allowed a 19-yard touchdown at the gun.

Anybody who says LSU won the game multiple times and blames officials for screwing LSU is wrong and is not a man. All the pivotal calls were correct, and if you can’t handle that, you aren’t fit for viewing or playing sports.

I wish we would have gone for it 4th and 1 at Florida to go up 14-7. Same problem of being too conservative. Of course the next week they went 4-4 on fourth down against Georgia

Half-back pass would have been perfect call in that situation for easy TD and win. Anyway, that's over. Tigers have a lot more experience on offense returning overall so we should see higher scoring per game and more wide-open play calling especially w the additional of extra quality offensive coaching...…. Agreed. Those series of play calls were abysmal. We played for another OT, THEN called the HB pass during the next OT series? What was the point of that. We played to tie and not to win.

I try to let these type things go, but Les Miles did the same thing against Bama in TS when all we needed was a first down to win the game and we ran it 3 times up the middle deep in Bama territory, settled for a Field Goal and they came all the way back down the field since we left enough time on the clock.

A killer instinct, or getting way ahead early is a lot less stressful for us fans. Hope we see some of those high scoring games for the Tigers this year.

Hindsight, if we are micro critical i would have to agree. When i first read your post i did think of the ND game as well. But now our talent level should provide us the opportunity in these situations to do something different.

If ensminger calls that play where Edwards helaire threw the pass to tory Carter then instead of sitting on it to next overtime, we leave college station as winners

I don't blame that play for the loss. there were a number of game losing plays. however, I think we had a problem with red zone td scoring. it was better than the previous year but we have to improve that. if we do, maybe our coaches will have the confidence to call the td play vs the fg

Hindsight is always 20/20. If we had opted to throw and thrown an interception, we’d say they should’ve ran it and played for the FG.

I agree. The head coach's mentality on offense cost us. I hope he learned his lesson.

I was just pissed we used the HB pass play the next possession to tie instead of the previous possession to win! That was the big f’up imo.

That being said, there could have been a defensive alignment that prevented the HB pass on the previous possession. That was my only conclusion as to why they didn’t use it.

LSU should have stopped A&M on the last drive. Period.

this one was on the one inch line. and there was no downside to taking the risk, no titles on the line other than the bowl game itself...and LSU lost anyway even though the field goal was made, there was no reason to be conservative in that instance

this was a turrible call

100% agree with this puzzling call. What made it even more questionable, after we tied it and went to the 5th OT and had the ball first, we broke out the halfback pass for a TD from similar field position. You run that play in the 4th OT with the same result and game over...

Easily the worst play calling sequence of the year in that over time

The poor defense and aranda’s schemes and play calling lost that game.
