I played the shite out of that game summer 17- summer 18 but haven’t touched it since. Not sure how the player base is now.

The game is 1000x better if you don’t take it seriously and play with friends. It’s stressful as frick otherwise.

Still the best BR game to me. It has a certain magic about it that other BR games completely fail to capture.

Unfortunately the streamers that played 12-14 hours a day got increasingly frustrated by bugs and the slow pace and they quit, so a lot of players have quit. Still has a respectable player base size though and has more or less settled into its core audience.

No. Unoptimized mess. If you like doing everything in slow motion and feel like you're running in knee deep mud then it's for you.

It would probably suck to start playing now too since most players are really fricking good

You didn't start on PC in time for the early DayZ days right?

The game was special and it was unoptimized. But it is hard to go back to it now, even with updates. Too little too late type stuff.

When I started DayZ it was like 6 months or a year into it. Was still beyond awful though.

I've tried it twice since the new update and can't do it.

It's amazing how much they fricked the game up going from the mod to the standalone

I know right.

But running the coast for 30mins, random encounters, trolling others and just not knowing where the fckk you might be gave it the charm.

It was damn near magical. The memories make me feel warm inside.

Edt: Crazy story, I meant one of my BFs playing DayZ. We began hoping on a vent and just became really good friends. Moved on to D3 together after.

So much so the the GF and I planned a trip with him and his GF to Vegas back in 2016.

All they had to do was region lock China. They refused to do so.

It is really not that bad. We rarely run into hackers. Probably because more of the hackers are in TPP and we're not weebs so we play on FPP.

Dont take this advice. UH probably has like 3 hours in the game when it first came out. Bluehole has been very consistent lately with weekly updates and fixes, but like blue said jumping in now you will notice a high learning curve.
