The NBA like all professional sports is a meritocracy - they don't care where the talent is from.
Canada has been on an upward trajectory as a basketball country for a while now - didn't Canada beat the US in some U-20 tournament a few years ago? With the Raptors winning the title and the current young Canadian talent in the league it's only going to get better.
