re: What time is PeliSon PC today?

To be fair, they snapped photos for about 45 seconds and Brandon was smiling for a decent portion of that time.
I love the Pelicans and I would love to play or work for them, but I can’t even bring myself to smile for a picture for 45 straight seconds.

Yes, I was honestly relieved when they all stood up and Brandon returned to being taller than Josh Hart.
Posture aside. I like these guys. From an interview standpoint, they all gave some very solid answers. They all seemed humble, thoughtful, confident and professional.

I formed my post before you actually posted his actual measurements boss. Notice that I replied to your 6ft 7in post, not your draft express measurements post that you threw in late in an attempt to cover your inaccuracies.
Also, let’s not forget that you legitimately copied my post earlier about Cleveland’s first so settle down young gun.
Also, you are talking about a height from 10 years ago. It’s likely he has grown at least an inch since then and shoe height is always used in the nba. It was a weird argument that wasn’t necessary in this case. Everyone had already discussed the fit not making any sense. No need to make up some heights.
Peace Out PelicansBrook. Let the adults speak.

I don’t like the Kevin Love idea either, but he is listed at 6ft 10in. Let’s not move the goalposts on an argument that’s already easy enough to win.

Was Brandon Ingram sitting in a baby chair or was his posture just that bad? He looked to be about a foot shorter than Josh Hart when they were sitting next to each other lol.
Great presser overall. All 4 seem like solid dudes that fit the culture Griff is trying to create. Happy for Brandon that he will get to pick up a basketball soon. Must be dreadful to love the game that much and not be able to do anything from a playing basketball standpoint for 4 plus months.

Hope this one starts on time. I remember when Zion’s presser started about 45 minutes late.
Can’t wait for Ole’ Joels to ask some awkward questions and hype Jrue some more. That was primetime entertainment.

The Suns at 35 Wins, the Spurs at 37 Wins, the Nets at 38 Wins, and the Pacers at 39 Wins are all numbers that seem a bit outrageous. I understand they have their formula, but they probably should’ve deviated from that formula a bit after it spit those numbers out.

Looks like Coach Payton is in aggressor mode. I like it. I’m expecting a lot of fake punts, 4th down gambles, 2 point conversions, and wild play calls. You don’t hit a golf shot off a boat and randomly become conservative in your pursuit of a ship. I’m somewhat surprised that he didn’t pull Taysom out of the gallery and have him take that shot.

Let’s say Love is healthy and ready to help...
From a Pels fan perspective, wouldn’t we want Cleveland Kevin, to start playing like Minnesota Love and maybe just maybe unexpectedly lead the Cavs out of the bottom 10, so we can have yet another quality draft asset?
Maybe that’s a bit unrealistic, but let’s say Kevin comes out of the gate strong and the Cavs start 10-10. You may be able to convince a less intellectual front office that the trend continues and our Cleve 1st now would have more trade value as a result if we cashed it in before Love’s body fell apart and Cleve ultimately tanks.
What you are suggesting is worse case scenario for a Pels fan, not the best. You are lighting fire to our cap space for a big that we don’t need and doesn’t fit our window. You are suggesting we flip assets for a negative asset and in that trade we also 100% guarantee that our Cleveland 1st becomes two seconds.
I don’t like it. Application denied.

Even though my expectations are admittedly a bit tempered. I’m still happy to be here among most of you.
I see a lot of speculation here about regarding a particular poster named Crewz. Sorry to disappoint, but I assure you my screen name is simply a phonetic coincidence. When you really look at Crewz and CruiseControl, those 2 names aren’t even close.
Looking forward to the press conference introducing the traded players at 3. Will talk more to you flock then.

Good ole present day minority privilege. People are so afraid to levy the correct punishment against certain groups nowadays that it cost another person their life. This scumbag needs to go back to where he came from.
re: Brandon Clarke. And Naz Reid
Posted by CruiseControl on 7/15/19 at 10:04 pm to CelticDog
Clarke was definitely a nice find for Grizz at pick 21. Completely understand the Pels not drafting him though as they already drafted 1 supercharged 6ft 7in PF named Zion.
Getting multiple undersized Power Forwards that largely occupy the same space on the floor would’ve been redundant. It’s nice to have Hayes because he provides a different archetype and also a higher ceiling.
Assuming Hayes develops to his potential, you can play Zion and Hayes on the court at the same time. I’m unsure that you can say the same about Zion and Clarke unless you are playing against a team that is going really small.

I created this account because I was pumped to have some great, medium to high level conversations about the Pels. And then I find out that this is the first topic someone started since my account was activated LOL.

re: Anyone forget the Saints existed because of PeliSons?

Yes, the ending of the last 2 saints seasons has me feeling a bit dead inside. I’m not going to be too excited until the playoffs come around and I’m going to have an uneasy feeling until we actually lift the Lombardi this season.
The way the last 2 seasons ended were pretty soul crushing as a fan. We have a top 5 front office, top 5 coaching staff and a Top 3 roster and that still didn’t prevent unprecedentedly bad things from happening to end each season.
I used to think that if you had the most talent, avoided major injuries, and played the right way that it would lead to a championship, but in reality you have to get supremely lucky and you are still ultimately at the mercy of refs/league office/etc.
The window is now and it is truly Super Bowl or bust. There is no other ending to this season that will satisfy a single fan of the Saints on this board. Compare that to the mindset of a Pels fan and the only expectation is that it will be a fun, exciting team that’s true contention window will be open in 3-4 years. That leaves much more opportunity as a fan to be happy before, during and after the season. The bright future of the Pels has been a nice break from the heartbreak of the last 2 Saints seasons. I’m going to hold onto that as long as possible, because honestly this Saints season is going to be stressful as hell from a fan standpoint.
