My brother's pit turned on his kids in the backyard. The oldest boy was walking to him to give him a hot dog and it lunged at him and attacked. I grabbed the shovel (thank God my brother had bought a premium branded one) and stunned it until my brother got his shotgun and finished the dog off. There was never any aggression shown by their dog in the 7 years they had him nor did he have any medical issues. The kids never bullied or teased him. In fact that dog defended my niece from another dog a year earlier. After that, no more pits or pit mixes in my family. Hell, I've owned 2 basset hounds and a golden retriever.. never had to worry about them going into kill mode.

Love my hound (female mix), but she can show teeth to other dogs. She hates my MIL's cocker spaniel, tbf that little dog is a bitch.

They’re all good dogs until they bite somebody. The only difference is pits can kill the frick out of you.
