It's pretty much a wild arse guess at this point. It all depends on where the bands come on shore and how all of this plays out.
I know it sucks worrying about this. During the 2016 event my family member was relaying info to me that the Amite would crest on Sunday. I rented a U-haul for friday to go pick up as much as I could.
Then the crest forecast went way up and moved to Saturday.
On Thursday night all hell broke loose with the rain north of the area and by 8:00 AM water was rolling into my peeps house on Friday morning.

I was warning him that Friday. Told him I would come over and help him move his irreplaceable items into his attic. He was sure it would be ok. Saturday afternoon he had 3' of water in his house and was scrambling to get his vehicles out of the neighborhood
He lives by the Racetrac off Florida Blvd and Rushing.

This. In 2016 the flood projections (once they came) were based on rain that had already fallen, and was continuing to fall. In this case they are base on projected rainfall that hasn’t even started yet.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t be prepared - they absolutely should. But just pointing out that there’s still a chance things aren’t as bad as currently projected.
At least that’s what I’m going with, for the sake of sanity.
