What should be cut from the budget? What’s your ideal solution?

Here's the thing. The vast majority of tax receipts (~90%) are eaten up by SS, medicare/medicaid, defense, and interest on debt. As the boomers age, it will easily eat up all tax receipts at current tax levels.

Think about that. You could eliminate every other government program and we still can't balance the budget if you don't touch those things. No SNAP, no HUD, no education spending, etc.

We cannot fix things without changing SS, medicare/aid, and defense. It is mathematically impossible.

You are one enormous fricking idiot? I think a little less Deliverance and a little more education would help.

no agenda in that report.

The US steals more than enough money from the Taxpayer. We don’t have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem.

Okay, but the following is also true

1. It is mathematically impossible to fix the budget issues without touching SS, medicare/aid, and defense

2. Trump supported increasing defense spending, he campaigned on not touching SS and medicare, and he obviously championed the tax cuts

Trump hasn't really taken any reasonable steps to address the line items in the budget that must be tackled. Proposing cuts to other departments will not come close to balancing things out

We have to make hard adjustments to popular programs. There is no other way. Or increase taxes. Pick your poison.

Trump is t really the problem here. (The collective) “We” are the problem. Proposing needed cuts to SS and Medi are a one-way ticket out of office.

Expecting Trump (or any other politician) to take that kind of action against public will is... silly.

Until the masses start clamoring for these cuts... it’s not going to happen.

CUT CUT CUT!!!!

Get out of the ME
Get out of NATO
Get out of welfare for non Americans
Limit SNAP to basics and give receipentants half of any savings they have every month (this would dramatically cut how much we spend--huge)
Implement the IBFreeman plan for SS
Implement the IBFreeman plan for subscription based Medicare
Cut earned income tax credit by 50%
ect. ect. ect.

Sure did waste a lot of money investigating Trump and his ties to russia.
Also spent way to much money investigating Kavenaugh.
There is a common denominator with these 2 examples.

As long as we foot the worlds military spending we cannot cut the spending in that sector. As Trump has said to the chagrin of the libtards and Europeans, they must pay their “fair share” of military cost. Currently, we foot the bill for that whole continent and then some.

We knew it was going to get worse with Boomers retiring.

The entire "receipts" thing is a smoke screen.

EVEN IF recepts went all the way up to taking every $ in income above $1,000,000 in yearly income... it wouldn't balance the current budget. We have a spending problem. Not a taxing problem.

We're spending more money than can be taken. Next stop... spending more money than can be borrowed.
