When did the media all of a sudden become huge government spending & deficit hawks?

Front page of MSN.com right now

"This is how much Trump's 4th of July event cost the military"

Combined with the non stop articles about how much it costs for Trump to go to Mar-A-Lago, I just don't remember the media ever addressing any spending under Obama. Even when Michael would take extravagant vacations overseas.

Let’s be honest, both sides flip the switch on giving a shite about government spending depending on whether or not they have the power.

The difference is the conservatives in this country are CUCKED. And continually vote for people who preach small government then go borrow a trillion dollars from China to build bridges in the middle of no where.

Try giving money to poor people, and the conservative media will start reporting on the dollar amounts too...

I know it's lip service at this point, but the day republicans stop caring about the debt is bad news. I don't see how Dems can even mention it though with all the damn programs they are flying around these days. I will say that I am irritated with the spending under Trump. So the best presidents Reagan and Trump run deficits that I'm aggravated over. Meanwhile Dem's claim Clinton's surplus as how they are the fiscally responsible ones. The Dems suckered Reagan with a deal they reneged on. They held Congress for most of his term. And Trump should have never signed the Omnibus his first year.

Left: We want to fund free healthcare for everyone, including illegals.

Left: We need to audit this 2.5 mil dollar parade

The media is corrupt, partisan, and incompetent. If you have the same economic conditions as we have today, and if a Democrat is elected President, the media will turn on a dime and tout the "greatest economy in history!"

I'll say it like this - Republicans say they care about debt/deficit as a matter of policy and platform (and on a reasonably consistent basis), but most do not and collectively, they certainly do not. It doesn't help that when they take the rare stand, they draw 100% of the blame.

But, Democrats only say they care about it when they don't control the levers of government. It is wholly rhetoric on their part. One could add any number of zeros to our current spending and debt, and the Dems would have additionally zero problems with it.

guess what that day is upon us. They haven't cared one bit about spending since Trump was elected. They had control of both house and senate and didn't pass a budget. They offered a massive tax cut to the american people and no way to pay for it. I love how republicans love Reagan and Trump. They both talked tough and republicans fell in love. Both spent money like drunk sailors and one cared.
