Ok...
They weren’t trying to step on it.
Yeah the one chick shouldn’t have ditched it, but they weren’t exactly trying to burn it either.
So, I'm guessing they won.
I'm also guessing 99% or more, of a national team (of any country) that wins an international event, would be proudly waving their flag, not tossing it onto the ground. I mean, this is basic stuff- it's your team emblem, if nothing else. You just won, you display it proudly. If LSU beats Alabama, you can bet the players celebrating afterwards will not throw LSU flags and pennants onto the ground.
On a national team, it's this concept x 1000.

The flag getting thrown on the ground didn't come off as frick America
More let me do some monkey arse dance that doesn't involve flag
Rapione did seem to waive off flag like get that out of here for our monkey arse dance.
I did not see purposeful stepping on it.
The flag was handled incorrectly that said wearing like a cape doesn't really sit well with me

Yes she was.
That wasn’t an accident,
I won’t lose any sleep over it, but she very cavalierly tossed it aside.

It was a clear Simulation of walking on the Flag.. The one girl threw it down in front of Lesbian Girl like a carpet... They got as close to walking on it as they could without doing it. She was trying to make a steatement. There is no doubt...

It's like saying "eating steak at an upscale restaurant with your fingers didn't come off as crude and uncouth".
You can argue "intent" all day long, but universal etiquette and common sense say otherwise. You simply don't throw the flag on the ground, no matter what the reason.

Some of you guys are completely deranged.
They shouldn't have handled the flag that way, but you're giving them way too much credit for premeditating what you're suggesting in a split-second for a photo op.

What was that bizarre cult walk/dance they all did?
And I agree. The blonde is just too stupid, vapid, and pathetic to understand how to handle the flag. I don't think she did anything on purpose. She's just a moronic dipshit.

You're not any better than them when you play the "faux outrage" card.

I don't know if it has an official name, but starting low and raising high with the arms is a pretty common soccer celebration. The crowd typically participates. The little dance was a different interpretation.

A person who doesn't think much of the flag or the country it represents doesn't have to premeditate an action. It comes from the heart naturally without forethought because that's how they have condtioned themselves to act.

The girl who dropped the flag on the ground wasn't Rapinoe, who is the one protesting the anthem. The entire rest of the team sang it with their hands over their hearts throughout the tournament.
Even Rapinoe sung her lungs out for the anthem 4 years ago, and when we won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics. She's just mad that Trump is President. Her justification that the protest is for "equal rights" is bullshite. She's exploiting the platform of a World Cup and the media is running with it.
Again, you're giving way too much credit to these girls for acting maliciously toward the flag in a 5 second Instagram video.
Posted on 7/8/19 at 5:46 am to nvasil1
Nah. You almost did it, but you're the one giving too much credit. It takes very little effort to NOT drop the flag. It is a 5 second video because that's all it needs to be. The entire team is built around support of rapinoe politically, agree with her or be left home.

They don't attribute any of their success to the country nor the opportunity it provides. They see themselves as some sort of Game of Thrones heroes that run set up in the face of great adversity. And they know young children that lover soccer are watching this. These people are immature and disghustung.

the flag should not touch the ground
Well, for sure the flag should never, ever be placed on the ground intentionally, which is what clearly happened here.
The other player realized they were about to (mindlessly or not) trample on the flag and saved the two of them from further embarrassment and the flag from further disrespect, so double kudos to her.
They definitely showed their ignorance and lack of basic patriotic decorum, which has no place on a team supposedly representing the US.
Next time, we should at least bring on that GTFO hockey coach at least as a consultant.
