Woj was just on sportscenter, discussing the PG deal

Said the Clippers came after Jrue before being told he was unavailable.

Yep and he's unavailable...so for those that haven't wanted to accept it or haven't been listening...he's not being dealt...this his is his team.

If the Clippers offered Gallinari, SGA, and four first round picks the Pelicans should have said yes.

The Pelicans could have been Boston on Steroids.

In a year if Giannis wanted out they could have made a monster offer and paired Giannis with Zion

Also could have paired SGA with his cousin NAW

No way they offered that much for Jrue...who knows what they offered? We'll never know.

Either way he's not being dealt...they are building this franchise around him...Zion is the future, yes, but Jrue is the present

Maybe simply to get SGA.
Gallo is an empty return b/c he's not staying around.
and those first round picks are going to be nothing but late firsts, and those Miami firsts aren't looking to great either anymore.

But those Lakers first are looking better

I get the feeling that Ms. Gayle realizes that in order to maintain the local interest that now has been generated, she needs to have a competitive team take the court. Not saying win it all, but a fun to watch, competitive organization. Trade Jrue, and the odds of that happening decrease. More future picks are nice, but given the haul from the Lakers, its not essential at this point.

Clippers had to give up everything because they were in a bidding war with Toronto. Whoever got George, got Kawhi. So the trade was essentially for two players.

It's also about the personal relationship. Since day 1 Griffin has said this Jrue's team and they are going to build the culture around how he plays (which is the right way). You trade him, all that good will goes out the window and makes the rest of the talent on the roster and any other potential talent question you. You do not want that.

Would've only traded Jrue for SGA, Shamet, Miami 2021 unprotected and a 2026 clippers unprotected

And now griffin can tell Jrue and the team he turned down all the clips assets to keep his word and build the team the right way
