They’re paying $57,600 a year on a mortgage, and their pre-tax income is ~140k? Add to that a kid and saving 10%.
I’m not saying it can’t be done, I’m just a little surprised by those numbers.
And a military guy is going to put the better part of a million dollars into a house.

They are saying it can't be done anymore. It used to be that you sold you house for a ton of money in Cali and then moved to Montana or Boise or some other state and immediately start bitching about public services. Used to see Save Montana, kill a Californian bumper stickers out there. They were apt.
