I'm thinking of buying a truck that has the top bed rails done, I dont like it there personally and the truck will be painted anyways

Seems miserable to take off if you can even get it off. Have fun

If you're really into it, I'd try heat and a flat scraper. Idk if that would work, but it seems like it would

Call one of the shops that does it and ask, surely they get that stuff on things they need to get it off of.

So you are going to spend money to buy a used truck, then spend more money to repaint it, then spend more money to remove a spray-in bedliner...have you thought about maybe just buying a truck that you want in the first place? This doesn't make much sense.

Not going to be easy. Most of the spray in bedliners have a reasonable warranty against it coming off or loose. They know that stuff sticks very well if the prep was done right. It will come off but plan on lots of elbow grease.

Well a truck that I want had to be a 96-98 extended cab with third door Z71, it's been hard to find one that wasn't abused at some time. So when I found a nice one except the paint i bought it, i dont mind spending some money on what i want, just didn't want to leave the bedliner on the top side of bed

If your just removing the liner from the top of the bed rails. A small can of Aircraft Paint Remover and a plastic putty knife will do it without to much effort. It will also damage the paint underneath which sounds like shouldn't be a problem. Buy the jumbo package of paper towels at Sams or a box of those disposable rags.

Top rail bedliner is best thing that I ever did to my truck, I even took it down an inch and a half down on the tailgate.

Think you'd be better off just adding a whole another bedliner layer to freshen it up and clean up edges.
