$30M now or $0.00 next summer. He's coming. Only question now is who do we target at CB and LB cover (could be one player). Though he could definitely do it, I'm not a fan of being one injury away from Fabinho in the back line. When on form, he's one of the best deep lying mids in the world.

Agreed, we’d lose a lot in the midfield without him back there. I hope klopp isn’t planning on relying on that with Matip made of glass.

Is it too soon to start looking at next season?

I mean it's only like a month and a half away, sooo not at all

Origi and Sadio both had absolute jawdroppers today. Great way to finish strong in the last match of the season, albeit after picking up the pieces early on.

Should I go ahead and make the new season thread? Or wait a week? I feel like we've been champs for forever already

I say go ahead and make the new one. Lots of exits and prospective entries to make, plus the residents of the board need to see the “tOfficial Defending PL Champions - Liverpool” for as long as is mathematically possible.

frick it boys, on to Numbers 20 and 7. What do we need? Who leaves? Do we spend anything?

I think gini, lovren and shaq are sold. Lovren and shaq obvious. I just feel gini wants more $ than we’re willing to offer and we can get money for signings.
Key decision will be Brewster. I think we keep him for the first half of the year to see if he can supplant origi or manamino. If not, he goes out in January again.
So we add to the midfield, the front three and the back four. I’m looking at sarr from Watford, Thiago from Bayern in the midfield and no idea for the back.

I honestly think we have no choice but to make CB a priority. Gomez has been SUPER shaky alongside Virgil, and we just lost depth with Lovren leaving. Fabs is obviously not a depth option if we want to keep our quality top-shelf.
I think Brewster definitely stays for the first half of the season as you said, zizzle. I honestly think we sign a cheap midfield option now that Lallana is headed out. Hopefully Ox keeps rounding into better form over the summer and makes the new cheap signing relatively useless.
On the back line I am drawing a blank. I have no clue who we could even possibly land, and it is frustrating because it could just be one big signing and done with all the cash we have made the last two years.

I think he has been rock solid, outside of the city match..
I think we need 4:
A versatile player up top who can play through the middle or out wide.. w/pace.. with Werner gone, I dunno.. Donyell Malen would have been ideal, but not sure how he's progressed from his knee injury..
A mid with some creativity... Thiago makes too much sense. If Gini didnt resign or we decided to sell Milner, Ive seen us linked to McKennie... I wouldn't be opposed to that either..
A backup LB... not really sure, but the kid from Norwich has been mentioned..
A backup CB.. Maybe a veteran stop gap (Kolo like), but Ive also seen us linked with that song Turkish CB from Schalke.. know nothing about him..

I think this is paramount. We've really sort of been playing with fire here the last two seasons as Mo, Sadio, and Bobby have all stayed relatively healthy. Origi and Minamino are fine players off the bench but I don't see either as a suitable option if they were forced to play weekly.
I actually think we're okay in the midfield even if we were to sell Gini. That still leaves us with Hendo, Fabs, Keita, Ox, Milner, and Jones.
I wouldn't mind seeing us splash for a CB that could compete for a starting spot, but at least a 4th choice is a necessity. With Matip being injured half the time, somebody has to push Gomez to be a better player.
Wish we'd look at Tagliafico from Ajax as LB cover but i'm not sure he'd want to come here as a backup. His style suits how we play.

Salah would not commit for next year--he said he wanted to enjoy the day and not think about it. Virgil was already talking next year. Salah has three years left on his deal.

We're going to pretty quickly have to prepare ourselves of the reality that guys like Mo, Sadio and even Bobby may want to play at pinnacle places like Madrid, Barca and Juve.
The good thing is they will likely garner MASSIVE fees but it's always in the back of my mind.
Liverpool is a great club but as a city and lifestyle, its not on the level as those other places and it never will be unfortunately.
That being said, let's squeeze as many trophies out of these guys as we possibly can.

As Klopp says you come to Liverpool for the football
The weather is awful and its a very working class town.
I was there around new years day (three years ago) and it never rained but the pavement was not dry for three days

For sure, which is why the Torres move was an even bigger kick in the you know what.
I guess he got a UCL out of it and couldn't ever go to Real but really tarnished his legacy.
Dude is a drop in the bucket for Chelsea fans.

I dont consider Juve to be in the same class as those other two... A great club on a great run, but have dominated a fairly average league this past decade.. I think you can see them already coming back to the pack a bit... Sarri ball
This summer, PSG are possibly the only ones that could afford any of those... I think we keep them all this year , but may see one leave next... I just would love that sale to coincide with Sancho moving on.. I fear United are going to snag him this summer..

Totally agree, they just have a great history and the Italian lifestyle speaks for itself.
