The plan for Ox and Keita should be starting with Fab. I like our 3 boys but we have zero creativity or any forward contributions in a match where teams sit and try to counter. I get that fitness has been an issue but these two need to start if fit.

In the last six matches Liverpool have dropped points, Atkinson has been the referee for three.
Man U Atkinson
Everton Atkinson
Man U Oliver
West Ham Friend
Leceister Atkinson
Man City Taylor, a Manc

So, being a math dweeb on top of still being pissed off about the game yesterday, I did a quick-and-dirty statistical study.
Possession in yesterday's match was Liverpool 68%, MU 32%. Considering the 90+6 minutes official time in the match, that works out to possession of 65 minutes for Liverpool and 31 minutes for MU.
Fouls called by Atkinson on each team: 14 on Liverpool, 6 on MU.
What that works out to statistically is that Martin Atkinson averaged a foul called on Liverpool every 2.2 minutes of MU possession (31 minutes of MU possession/ 14 fouls called on Liverpool).
MU? A foul called every 10.8 minutes of Liverpool possession (65 minutes of Liverpool possession/6 fouls called on MU).
That is just a MASSIVE statistical difference. Atkinson was calling fouls on Liverpool at nearly 5x the frequency of that on MU. Added to the fact that official EPL statistics show that Livepool, as a squad, is apt to foul much less than MU.

Hendo sucks, period point blank. Always has, always will.
Easy turbo. He can do a job for us but he shouldn't be starting in a match like this.
Ox or Keita all day with Fabinho out there.
Having Gini/Hendo/Fab is redundant as hell and it showed.

Yep. You said it right - redundant. Though with the lack of minutes by Ox/Keita thus far that maybe Milner would have been the better choice.
But without Salah, we're down a fair bit of creativity. So more than usual you need a midfielder who can bring it.

Hendo and Fab is the redundancy... Our starting MFs should be Gini, Keita, and Fab... gives us the strongest going forward, as well as defending...

Yep. Anyone who believes that Henderson and Wijnaldum are comparable midfielders in the jobs they are tasked to do in addition to their work-rate is just... well, I don't know what to say.

The point was having all three of them together is even more so. Not that they're the same player.
But to think Hendo can do what Fab does on any level is also pretty far off.
Bottom line, need to figure out how to get Keita/Ox in there for one of them.

Hendo can’t lace Fab’s boots and they aren’t really redundant. Fab dictates our pace of play from the back and is a true link between defense and offense. He picks out and completes passes that Hendo just isn’t capable of.

Agreed.
None of Fab, Hendo or Gini are very capable of linking the attack together in the final 3rd. That is the problem.
It was also dumb starting Origi over Ox. Use him as a super sub but we looked way more dangerous once Ox came on. Origi just flat isn’t a starter. We need something else.
Really hope they look for something creative in January. We need a B or D Silva type player so badly. Without that kind of option, we’re super predictable and fairly easy to defend with the right tactics.

Who do you THINK starts in the midfield tomorrow?
I think he starts Fabinho, Milner, and Gini in the middle. This wouldn’t necessarily be my choice but I think that’s Klopp midfield tomorrow.

You’re likely right.
Could still see him rolling out Hendo. Loves him in an away match.
Really just want Ox to get some damn time.
Salah was banged up.

1. I still dream of FSG and Klopp opening up that wallet for Bruno Fernandes.
2. Just read where TAA didnt make the trip to Genk because he’s suffering from a virus, so I’m betting Milly slots into LB. So maybe Fabs/Gini/Ox? Or, knowing Klopp, Fabs/Gini/Lallana ?

Milner at the press conference so definitely playing. The other option at right back is Gomez with lovren playing CB.
